Lose Weight in the New Year With Live Well Suffolk
Lose Weight in the New Year With Live Well Suffolk

Ipswich Town will again be hosting Live Well Suffolk’s free Lose Weight courses in the new year. The next course starts on the evening of Wednesday 14th January.

Town previously supported the free Lose Weight with Live Well Suffolk group in the cold winter months of October through to December.

The plan was to help these men get fitter for Christmas whilst teaching them some valuable tools to reduce their weight by five per cent in a sustainable and healthy way.

Although there was a chill in the air, the clients battled through the cold days and frosty ground to complete a weekly circuit session of 30 minutes. The exercise part was as regular as a football match, once a week and played on the Portman Road FieldTurf.

One of the nutritional sessions saw the clients going wild in the aisles looking at food labels and healthier alternatives to the food they were previously buying.

This was followed by a Gordon Ramsay-style (minus the swearing) cooking session which taught clients to cook healthy takeaway alternatives.

Twelve clients completed the 12-week course which generated a weight loss of 7 stone 1lb. Three of the clients joined up having read about the course on TWTD.

David Cook, a Town season ticket holder, lost a staggering 11kg over the 12 weeks of the course.

“The group inspired and motivated me to make changes in my lifestyle,” he said. “The portion beaker and exercise encouragement contributed towards my weight loss.

“Thank you to James and Hannah for their help. It’s hard work, but if you’re willing to put the effort in you can expect results.”

Places are limited and going quicker than hot mince pies, so sign up or learn more about the courses calling 01473 229292 or visiting Live Well Suffolk’s website.

Think I might have a look at this in the new year. I do not need to lose much weigh, maybe half a stone, but I need the motivation to get myself fitter.
