Mings and Noel Hunt Doubts For Boro Clash
Friday, 19th Dec 2014 14:10

Tyrone Mings and Noel Hunt have emerged as doubts for Saturday’s home game against Middlesbrough. Luke Hyam remains sidelined with his achilles injury but Stephen Hunt is back having missed the trip to Bolton with a virus.

“Stephen Hunt is fine, he’s trained today,” manager Mick McCarthy said. “Sadly, Noel Hunt got a kick yesterday and he’s a bit of a doubt but we’ll wait until tomorrow to see about him.

“Luke Hyam’s not fit and Tyrone Mings has got an infected toe, so we’ll have to wait and see about him tomorrow.”

McCarthy is hopeful that Hyam, who hasn’t played since the Bournemouth match almost a month ago, will be available over the Christmas period.

“It’s difficult because the longer it goes, the harder it is to get back, of course,” he added. “But hopefully he’ll be OK. His achilles has settled down.

“They are difficult to treat because you drive a car, you walk, you do anything and it all goes through it and it just keeps aggravating it unfortunately. Hopefully, he’ll be back asap.”

Shame if Mings does not play but didn't have his best game last week and Adomah will be a problem along our left flank. Parr will be a good replacement and won't let us down I'm sure. This is going to be a tough game and I really fear Bamford so our back line will have to be at its best. Come on Town a win tomorrow will set us up nicely for the holiday programme.

Gonna miss Mr.Mingsy tomorrow, hopefully Parr will do nicely, also brilliant news that S.Hunt is back.

Big game, tough game, COYB!

Oh Mings could be a miss. However i am more concerned about the attacking Friend and Reach partnership down their left. Still think we could win this one. I can see DMG getting a goal. COYB

Did either of you see Parr at Left Back v Huddersfield? Awful.

HighSeasHlue - Parr was Palace's player of the season at left back when they were promoted. He'll be fine and is a better defender, but won't offer as much going forward. Maybe not such a bad thing vs Boro

Agree with the above post: Parr is better at defending, but isn't as athletic as Mings going forward, or covering any mistakes. I reckon Parr will be fine!

On the subject of Mings, anyone seen this today? Comes across as SUCH a nice grounded young man. A lot of youngsters could learn from his example, footballers or not!

I reckon that Mings will be a loss. If he's out then presumably Parr will be at left back, Chambers at right back, but Elliott is on loan; who do we have to cover for the full-backs?

DurhamTownFan thanks for that link. Great story in the Guardian, why couldn't the EADT have done it instead of the crxp they write most days. Having seen a few inter view with TM he comes across as very eloquent & can actually put a sentence together which is a lot more than the majority of footballers can do. He's not covered in tattoos either, can any one tell me why footballers think it makes them look cool or whatever, this style originated in New York as a left wing intellectual group called "Hipsters" but has become a rather banal fashion statement, we've got a few as most clubs do. A big thank you to Russell Osman for recommending TM, maybe Russell is on a percentage of any sell on fee.

i think Mings is a credit to the Town, the way he has conducted himself amid all this speculation, plus he always seems to have smile on his face.
