Monday, 29th Dec 2014 11:53

Town have now sold more than 1,000 half-season tickets covering the final 12 home games of the campaign, starting with Tuesday night’s match against Charlton.

The total currently stands at 1,049, while last year the Blues sold only 136.

A half-season ticket in the lower tier of the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand costs £271 for an adult, £189 for a senior citizen, student or disabled supporter, £149 for under-20s and £113 for under-16s, while an under-11s half-season ticket is available at £10. Full prices here.

The club are offering fans the chance to pay for their half-season ticket over four months via an interest-free direct debit scheme.

For more details, visit the club site or to buy a half-season ticket visit ITFC Direct.

Town have sold almost 22,000 tickets for the Addicks’ visit to Portman Road with the second-biggest home gate of the season expected. The Sir Bobby Robson Stand lower is sold out.

I'd love to see a few more in tomorrow night, something nearer to 24,000. Let's get a cracking atmosphere going. We could potentially create some distance between us and 3rd place with a win.

so all those on here moaning about prices keeping people away. Oh look we're second in the league, a hint of a whif of prem football next season and 'oh I can afford to go after all".

Don't get me wrong I'd love to see the stadium full every week, but it is time people were honest, success brings crowds not cheaper tickets. for the record before you all turn on me, I go to occasional games due to work/family commitments but I have had a season ticket for 10 years in the past (and in some pretty dire times too)

22000 - Great news, a night game, a big crowd, Town on fire, lets raise the roof and make sure everyone comes back again for the Derby, Wigan, etc matches

I'm going, only make half a dozen games a year, my son swims so Saturdays are out in any case.

I'll freely admit, when the team is doing well and playing well, there's certainly more incentive to make the effort.

Why travel a long distance, pay a lot of money and know the football will be poor? I remember watching us play under Keane and just thought what am I doing? I didn't go the remainder of that season. Jewell came in, I made the effort but it became depressing.

I'm sure a lot of you have your entire weekend shaped by our results, really can make you feel good or miserable.

Football is all about entertainment, I, Like others, would never support anyone else, but success breeds success. It's been 17 years since I had a season ticket, I wish I had the time to have another.

Long may it continue.

Quite honestly I don't care about why people don't go to matches. Right now I would like to see Portman Road packed by anyone who can make it and have the opposition intimidated by the noise. The more the merrier.

I am delighted that the crowds are on the increase but sadly so too is the cynical element that determines this gate increase to a large extent.

The stay way supporters are fine until something goes wrong and then they are on the players backs again. Let's hope it does not happen and that our good run continues.

All good points above, and all valid. Truth is, Suffolk's full of Town's faithfull. There are are countless loyal old sods who will never go to a game, lamenting the cost and the modern gamesmanship or whatever they call it. And there are thousands of lads (like my sons) who really do have blue blood, but live on Fifa virtual fanciness and Premiership glory. The crowd awakens the team sometimes. If the team is now awakening the crowd then so be it. I've not had a season ticket since I had too many sons to afford one anymore, but God knows, it has become a pleasure again to watch football at Portman Road; it really has been a long time. When I go, I do not want to come home with any voice left and lately I dont. I'm happy to be part of the resurgent wave.

As a Town supporter from the potteries paying child benefit til August 2015 and have been for 15 years my games are restrictive.
Away games only unfortunately , Id love to come to Portman Road but with travel a home game would be over £100.
If I was living within 25-50 miles im certain id be going more often, the home price is high but people will not pay to watch rubbish, hence why theyre coming back. Improved performance a chance of promotion id expect 22k + for all home games and if still 2nd after Tuesday 26k versus Derby Sky or not.

I'm not going to lie, I have been an armchair supporter for a number of years (was a season ticket holder when Joe Royle in charge). I have been to 5-6 home games a year since then and would love to have another season ticket but in recent years with all the dross of Jewell and Keane I was not going to fork out for that considering I live nearly 50 miles away, have 2 young children and have travel costs for 350 miles a week.

I always listen on Radio though whenever I can and if not constantly check phone for updates

Makes you laugh all the arm chair expert fans are interested in watching Town now there doing well, so the argument about ticket prices is just an excuse, the stay away lot should be ashamed. glory hunters ha ha... go on you tube to learn the songs

I still am a armchair supporter Blue moon and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I'd love to go week in week out but at the minute I can't justify £40 (without considering price of a season ticket in that too) to come to PR. I'd love it if I could but with a young family I can't afford to come to PR 3 times a month
