Witham Winger to Get Another Chance to Impress Thursday, 12th Feb 2015 15:07 Witham Town winger Tom Wraight will get another chance to impress the Blues when he plays for the U21s in Tuesday’s away game against Crystal Palace. The 20-year-old joined the Blues on trial a week ago and started Monday’s U21s match with Millwall at Playford Road but was forced off injury just after the quarter-hour mark. However, Garry Kimble, the manager of the Ryman Premier side, says Wraight will be given another chance to show the Town management what he can do next week. "Apparently, he only lasted 15 minutes in his first game, he hurt his back, but what they've said is they like what they've seen," he told the Essex Chronicle. "In Tom's favour is the fact he's got a great left foot and at the end of the day left-footers are hard to come by. He can play in numerous positions, he can play left-back and he's great in the air. "What they apparently liked about him was that he went for a 50-50 with Danny Shittu, an experienced and big player, and he didn't hold back. "He's going to play again for the [U21] side next Tuesday once his back has cleared up. Hopefully, he'll be alright to play for us this Saturday. "I can't stand in the lad's way because Tom is different class, he deserves his chance, the only thing we'll be hoping for, if it all goes well for him, is to maybe get a pre-season friendly out of them. "Hopefully, he'll play again against Crystal Palace next Tuesday and they might take a gamble with him because he's only 20 and has plenty of time."
