Saturday, 21st Feb 2015 16:42

Academy schoolboy Andre Dozzell won his fifth England U16 cap as a sub and netted in a penalty shoot-out as his side beat France 4-3 on spot-kicks after a 1-1 draw.

The result saw England finish bottom of the group at the UEFA Development Tournament which has been played at St George’s Park throughout the week.

Dozzell, 15, came on as a sub with 10 minutes remaining having started the 3-2 defeat to Switzerland on Monday and the 0-0 with Slovakia, which England also won 4-3 on penalties.

Shows how poor the young England players are compared to their continental conterparts, this of course is reflected through to senior team, and the fact that majority
of players in the Premiership are from abroad.

Think it was two points for a win on penalties, three in normal time. Sin bins were also being trialed, incidentally.
