Quintet Remain Sidelined for Birmingham Clash
Monday, 23rd Feb 2015 14:14

David McGoldrick, Darren Ambrose, Stephen Hunt, Luke Hyam and Noel Hunt all remain injured ahead of Tuesday’s home game against Birmingham, but Town boss Mick McCarthy says his squad suffered no new niggles at the weekend.

McGoldrick is expected to return from his thigh problem for Sunday’s derby at Norwich, while Ambrose and Stephen Hunt have hamstring strains and Hyam and Noel Hunt knee injuries, with the latter almost certainly out for the season.

“The lads who are injured are still missing, unfortunately,” McCarthy said. “But the good thing is that there’s nobody else is missing from Saturday.”

More injuries than last season + small squad = Mick playing players out of position.

How many games has Luke Hyam missed this season? he really is becoming our version of what Darren Anderton was to Tottenham years back!

Mcgoldrick being out again is a huge shame, need his creativity and he's another player that can score other than Murph.

We'll be fine - even better mind you if McGoldrick returns for the trip to the s**t hole that is Carrow Road and we bring in Knockaert.

Dids has only ever completed 1 whole season in his life but we need him back and playing like last season to have any chance this year .
I think our high tempo pressing game may contribute to our number of injuries as we are working are darn sight harder than most teams chasing the ball and we cannot keep our foot on it long enough . still have enough in the squad to beat the Brum if right players selected
Bart
Parr, Chambo , Berra , Mings
Skuse , Bru
Varney, Bishop , Sears
Murphy

Many on here said there could be a problem if injuries mounted and we failed to strengthen in Jan. now it's panic signings on below average players like Chaplow and Varney. Not good. Should have planned better than this.

........ what did we all keep predicting about injuries inevitably kicking in ? ......... and the fact is, that when the team performances start to falter somewhat - not many are as keen as they might normally be in coming back too early. The treatment table can 'stick' a bit.

All has to be accounted for - that's why running with a wafer thin squad is so foolhardy.

So blueboy you think Noel Hunt is pretending that he hurt his knee and Stephen Hunt and Darren Ambrose are pretending to have hamstring injuries rather than trying to win themselves new contracts?
Didz and Hyam are just wanting to extend their holidays.
As Chief football writer for this site you often talk a lot of sense but certainly not always.
