Mark Venus has seen his specialist and has been told that there is no serious damage to his knee. The veteran central defender had been suffering recently with a muscle behind the knee.

Venus has been told that rest will cure the problem. If this rest extends as far as the beginning of March then Town may be without him as well as John McGreal for the Southampton match. McGreal is suspended after reaching five bookings.
