Chaplow Handed Full Debut in Derby
Sunday, 1st Mar 2015 13:20

Town boss Mick McCarthy has handed Richard Chaplow his full Blues debut in today’s East Anglian derby against Norwich City at Carrow Road.
The on-loan Millwall man, a sub in the 4-2 victory over Birmingham on Tuesday. comes into the side on the right of midfield with Jay Tabb on the left of an otherwise unchanged team.

Paul Anderson and Jonny Parr drop to the bench, while Teddy Bishop misses out with the ankle injury he suffered in training.

Striker Chris Wood, who signed on loan from Leicester on Friday, is on the bench alongside 17-year-old first-year scholar Kundai Benyu. It’s the central midfielder’s first inclusion in a matchday 18.

David McGoldrick (thigh), Darren Ambrose, Stephen Hunt (both hamstring), Noel Hunt and Luke Hyam (knee) had all previously been ruled out. Former Northgate High School pupil Hyam travelled to the game on the train along with the supporters and will watch the match from the away end.

Norwich: Ruddy, Whittaker, Martin (c), Bassong, Olsson, Tettey, Johnson, Redmond, Howson, Hoolahan, Grabban. Subs: Rudd, Turner, Jerome, Hooper, Andreu, Garrido, Dorrans.

Town: Bialkowski, Chambers (c), Mings, Berra, Smith, Skuse, Bru, Chaplow, Bru, Murphy, Sears. Subs: Gerken, Parr, Clarke, Anderson, Benyu, Varney, Wood. Referee: Paul Tierney (Lancashire).

poor Parr, just no matter what he does, how many consistent performances he does and how good he always is, just cant get in the team. Whoever he plays for next year will be a lucky club. Parr if your reading a tip: play well once every 7.35 games, works for Tabb and anderson

Gotta feel sorry for Parr!! What's he gotta do to earn a run in the team!! There's no way you can say Mings is better than him. Otherwise a good team to be fair. Need to go at them from the start. COYB

Very surprised that Chaplow starts. Bench demonstrates again that we have very limited options. No excuse really. January was a great time to strengthen.

Really poor so far..Sears is looking sharp though.

Seriously cannot believe some of McCarthy's decisions at times..Chaplow starting? - bizarre!?

Smith needs dropping (been really poor since xmas) and Chambers needs putting into the middle..what the hell has Mick got against Parr??

These are bloody obvious decisions and it really annoys me that McCarthy can't see such glaring errors in his formation.

If we don't wake up not only will Norwich overtake us but we'll completely drop out of the play offs.
