Villa Linked With Mings and Bishop
Sunday, 29th Mar 2015 14:41

Town’s Tyrone Mings and Teddy Bishop are reportedly amongst a number of young English players on Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood’s summer wish-list.

According to the Sun on Sunday, Sherwood will target the best homegrown youngsters in the close season with Mings, Bishop and Leeds pair Sam Byram and Lewis Cook amongst those he is keen on adding to his squad.

Mings, 22, who is contracted to Town until 2017, has been eyed by practically every Premier League club this season, while Bishop has similarly attracted interest since breaking into the first team early in the campaign.

The 18-year-old midfielder recently signed new terms until 2018 with an option for a further season.

I don't think Ipswich will win promotion this season although I do at the very least expect us to finish in the play-offs, we should sell Mingsy in the Summer for no less than about £8m so we can then re-invest and bolster our squad ready for the 2015/16 season. Makes good business sense :)

Villa?!?! Hahahahaha give me a break. £15m-£20m minimum for the pair and they won't pay that.

I like Tim Sherwood, but never liked Villa and who says Villa will still be a premiership club!!

Villa is the type of club where both could get playing time, so I wouldn't rule it out. If we do not go up and Villa do not come down, then.........?

Villa cant affod either. When was the last time they spenta any money. If we dont go up Mings will go of that I'm sure but I would be amazed if Villa stumped up 10 million, I dont see Teddy going for at least a couple of years. Id take 5mil with add ons plus JW from palace mind

Paper talk. But if we don't go up, one or both are likely to be sold.

This comes from the Sun. Completely credible, then. How many sports journos would lose their jobs if they were obliged to report on matches or real news, instead of making it up?

They can do better than Villa? Ok where? They are fine young players at this level but lets not kid ourselves they could walk into any team in the top six. No way am I a Villa fan but Fabian Delph has not done himself any harm by going there

We sold Cresswell last summer and look like finishing higher this season. Player sales don't always hurt a club. If we don't go up and a good offer came in for Mings, we will have the money to reinvest and McCarthy has a great recruitment record. Bishop, as the younger player, is far more likely to stay at least another season.
