Chaplow and Wood Start at Huddersfield
Monday, 6th Apr 2015 14:12

Town boss Mick McCarthy has made two changes to his side ahead of this afternoon’s game at Huddersfield. Richard Chaplow and Chris Wood come into the team for Teddy Bishop and Freddie Sears.

The Blues are again expected to line-up in a 4-4-2 formation with Luke Varney on the right of midfield.

Bishop and Sears are on the bench alongside Jonny Williams but there’s no place for David McGoldrick.

Huddersfield: Smithies, Scannell, James, Hudson (c), Smith, Lynch, Coady, Gobern, Butterfield, Wells, Vaughan. Subs: Allinson, Edgar, Wallace, Lolley, Holmes, Carroll, Majewski.

Town: Bialkowski, Chambers (c), Fryers, Berra, Smith, Skuse, Chaplow, Varney, Tabb, Murphy, Wood. Subs: Gerken, Clarke, Anderson, Bishop, Williams, S Hunt, Sears. Referee: Tony Harrington (Cleveland).

Presumably Tabb is the missing man from the line up as there are only ten.players there at the moment.

What's happened to McGoldrick???

why the frick has Sears been dropped from the starting line up? thought he had a really good game against bournemouth, yet he's been replaced in the starting line up by a player that has yet to have a single contribution for the team!.

So whats the McGoldrick story now? Was hoping to see a bit of him today with maybe a start on Saturday.

Presumably MM has seen something in Chris Wood on training field that hasn't so far been transferred to the first team playing field. Time for it happen today, hopefully.
Not surprising that " footballer Bishop" has been replaced by Chaplow, given the appalling surface at Huddersfield.
Despite MM denying its a must win match, majority of supporters have a different opinion. And we must beware of Nakhi Wells.

we wont be seeing Mcgoldrink again im afraid friends, he played his last game quite some time ago. I suppose Varney who came off with cramp and sears who run himself in to the ground are not at a place where they can do 2 matches in two days. Interesting.....very interesting. Wonder who put the bid in for David???

The last game they played pitch was bad and bounced all over the place I think two big guys to start is a good plan.

Only 10 players? We seem to missing Tabb

The most uninspiring line up to date MM. We actually have the quality and creativity to play good passing football why persist with hoofball. I understand we are not going to pass Bournemouth off the park, but this is huddersfield. You will get some serious criticism from fans if we dont win today with that line up.

Why does he insist on starting games without our best players?

Sears and bishop obviously need a rest.

If the pitch is like a ploughed field then not much chance for footballing ! ? Dids is an interesting one

No Sears after the effort he put in against Bournemouth?...maybe he's just being rested but the inclusion of Chaplow and Wood is a tad surprising and why the hesitancy to not start Williams. Hopefully Mick gets the result we all need.

As mentioned why not even McG on the bench???

Hope this works but disappointed not to see McGoldrick on the bench. Hoofball again and hope not to lose. Fingers crossed.

Long coach journey Would not be good for someone coming back from a long term muscle injury. Pitch is only slightly better than Bradfords hence two big guys up front with midfield coming through onto second ball. Bishop and Sears would find it difficult to play on the deck. What you get if you share with the oval ball game.

Sears ran his socks of fri then fell into photoraphers dugout looked sore and was taken off shortly afterwards Bishops just come back from lameness run his heart out fri guess thats why they are on the bench cant make out what all the hysteria is for DM he hasnt played for 3months then didnt look like he was with us JW int match fit so can only be expected to play abit part well thats the way i see it

Looks like its back to hoofball again then.Should still have enough to beat Huddersfield though;bearing in mind that Freddie and Jonny on bench for later on (we hope).
Like a lot on here I am beginning to wonder whats going on with Mc Goldrick, but we have to trust the Manager, especially as we cant influence choice of team however much some would like to.
