Mings, Hunt and Gerken in U21s Facing Charlton
Tuesday, 7th Apr 2015 15:27

Tyrone Mings, Stephen Hunt, Dean Gerken, Alex Henshall, Elliott Hewitt and Jack Marriott will all be in action for Town’s U21s against Charlton Athletic at Portman Road this evening (KO 7pm).

Left-back Mings has missed the last two games as he was serving a two-match ban for reaching 10 bookings and is likely to go straight back into the first-team for Saturday’s home game against Blackpool.

Winger Hunt is yet to feature for the first team since recovering from his hamstring injury. The Irishman's last appearance came in the 2-1 home victory over Sheffield Wednesday in February.

Gerken will be playing his second U21 game after being knocked unconscious in the senior side’s match at Middlesbrough last month.

Hewitt recently returned from his loan at Colchester, where Marriott is spending the rest of the season, however, the striker is still permitted to play for Town’s U21s while with the U’s.

The 20-year-old has made only five sub appearances since joining Colchester in January, the most recent at the start of March, and has scored one goal.

The Addicks are unlikely to include many senior players as they have a first-team game at home to Fulham this evening.

I thought Jack Marriott was at Colchester. Has he been recalled or is he able to come back to play for the under 21s? Confused here..

Huge summer clear out coming ,re build a balanced squad would be a joy. That means all the current loan players need shifting back to their clubs , anderson the hunts tabby anderson ,etc etc all shifted on and we sign players who fit into positions , i get the feeling tabby would be picked in goal if we had 3 injured keepers. But he has a leap on him so happy days.
