It may be a crucial fixture to help determine who makes the play-offs and who misses out but Town’s approach to Saturday’s trip to face Wolves will be the same as it always is away from home, winger Stephen Hunt has confirmed.

Hunt, who is returning to his former club almost two years after his departure, said: “We are an experienced bunch and will treat this game the same as our last away game at Huddersfield, even though we lost, and the one before that at Watford. Hopefully we’ll get the same result we did at Watford.

“People are saying a draw would be a good result but we’ll just go there and see what we can get out of it. You can never set up for a draw or you end up getting beaten. We’ll try to play the game that we have been doing and hopefully we can get the win.

Hunt is delighted to be back for the vital run-in after making his comeback in Tuesday’s 3-1 home win over Cardiff that tightened Town’s grip on sixth place as close rivals Wolves and Brentford — all three clubs were on the 71-point mark going into their games — lost at Birmingham and Sheffield Wednesday respectively.

He added: “I tweaked my hamstring and had four or five weeks where I couldn’t get back in the team because Tabby was doing well. I just had to be patient and see how I got on.

“Tuesday’s match helped towards my match fitness but I wouldn’t say I was at my sharpest. We’ve won another game when I’ve played and that’s pleasing.

“There was more pressure on us to get the points in the last two home games than there will be going to Wolves on Saturday.

“We played well and scored three goals in both games so that was pleasing. I know we’d rather have won the Blackpool game by more of a margin — goal difference might still come into it come the end of the season — but Murph’s goal in stoppage time against Cardiff was very welcome and might still play a big part when things are being decided.

“It was a good night on Saturday but I can still hear the gaffer’s voice in my head — it’s only one game and we can only control what we do in our own games.

“It was a nice three points for us and we’re looking forward to Wolves on Saturday. It obviously puts them under more pressure to win the game and try to get back level with us.”
