U21s End Season With Draw at Cardiff
Monday, 27th Apr 2015 20:59

Town’s U21s ended their season with a 0-0 draw against Cardiff at the Cardiff City Stadium this evening.

Despite having been pencilled in for a return to action after his knee injury, Noel Hunt wasn't involved, but midfielder Darren Ambrose played his second full 90 minutes for the U21s as he continues his comeback after his hamstring injury.

Elliott Hewitt, who was on the bench for the first team at the weekend, and Alex Henshall were also in the side.

The U21s will finish their season in either fifth or sixth place in the Professional Development League Two South table depending on Millwall's result in their final game.

U21s: Crowe, Hewitt, Kenlock, McLoughlin, Robinson, Clarke, Hammond (Emmanuel 66), Benyu (Ramadan 76), Patterson (Guldbrandsen 66), Ambrose, Henshall. Unused: Blanchfield.

I hope he was not pulled out due to Murphy having an injury or something

Three Town fans present. Our consensus was that we now understand why Henshall doesn't get a look in - never beat the full back all game. Hewitt looked lively - especially when pushed up into midfield when Emmanuel came on. Probably just deserved a draw but our only real chances were long range shots from Ambrose.

U21s this season have been playing some good stuff and looks like there are a few gems amongst them. Good season lads. I will try and get along to more games next season.
