21,000 Tickets Sold for Home Play-Off
Tuesday, 5th May 2015 20:49

Ticket sales for Saturday’s Championship play-off semi-final first leg against Norwich City at Portman Road are currently at around 21,000 with seats set to go on general sale at 8am on Wednesday (Sky Sports 1, from midday, KO 12.15pm).

Tickets went on sale to Platinum and Gold Card holders on Sunday, while season ticket holders were able to secure theirs from Monday with their seats reserved until Wednesday at 8am. Silver Card holders were able to buy their tickets from this morning.

Fans can purchase their tickets in person at Planet Blue but the club encourage supporters to buy their tickets online from ITFC Direct.

Supporters purchasing tickets once they are on general sale may buy up to four per customer number. Full ticketing details for the home and away legs can be found on the club site.

Cant believe our passive season ticket holders , why on earth would you not buy a ticket for the biggest game in a decade. Our passive library of a home support base should take a leaf from the away support. The north stand is ok but green king ,brittania and cobbold sooooo quiet. Anyone else go to shed wed away ,my god their home support really create an atmosphere , our lot sit in silence or moan , why go if your not at least going to let out a huge fart ,or something on the noise front. COYB wake up.

We MUST make this a COMPLETE sell out - a chance to get new fans in and of course to BEAT NAARIDGE! And then, and judging by previous efforts we need to improve immensely, it would be great to hear PR rocking the way it did under Burley..... COYB

I'll say it again, if our ground only held 25,000 which would be more than adequate for our fan-base then no one would be complaining and a full house would be guaranteed more than once a season. all the stadium represents is the legacy of financial mismanagement under Sheepshanks and not filling it to capacity is no way a poor reflection of town fans.

Of course we want a full house but if it's less then we will be missing the half empty contingent. The ones who are talking us out of any chance:perhaps they forget our last semi final v Arsenal and that class striker Priskin scoring the winner.Anything is possible if we create an atmosphere in all areas and get behind the team for 90 minutes(or 95 if Noël Hunt plays!!) Can't wait.COYB

But we only have around 14000 season tickets so the rest will not sell out until tomorrow - no problems

Re NSL: Correct me if I'm wrong, but you basically just sang "our ground's too big for us"?

Do consider that season ticket holders who decide to sit in a different seat will be able to make their purchase and the then their seat isn't released until later today.

Does anyone know the official amount they can sell . I know the grounds capacity but seems its against the scum i wud think we will lose some due to extra segregation?

That's a brilliant effort
assuming platinum and gold holders are also season ticket holders and we have about 13000 season ticket holders the vast majority bought their extra ticket.
Today was the only day it could sell out which will happen easily

In the Magic era we sold out against Norwich if I remember rightly, on the back of the head of steam we had built up in the PL. Now we are a "business" it is just too pricey for some to attend matches regularly, although you would expect anyone to prioritise this one. Norwich are going to give us stick if we can't sell out, but their urban area is quite a bit bigger than Ipswich's, so they are going to have better crowds. I'll be disappointed if we don't sell out, but I reckon we'll be around 28,000, including the inbreds.
