Millwall Striker Linked
Wednesday, 6th May 2015 14:03

Town and Brentford are reported to be eyeing 21-year-old Millwall striker Aiden O’Brien.

O’Brien (pictured right) is contracted to the Lions for another year, but The Sun claims the now-League One club would consider cashing in on the Islington-born Irish U21 international for a fee of around £200,000.

Having come through the ranks at the Den, O’Brien has made 13 starts and eight sub appearances, scoring twice. He has also spent time on loan at Staines Town, Hayes and Yeading, Crawley, Aldershot and Torquay.

This seasons not yet over and the rumours have started already. How many players will Town be linked with between now and the start of next season??

Must be ok to get into the Irish U21 team. Never seen him play so know nothing about him. Doesn't sound like a finisher, maybe he's a link up player?

We should sign up Lewis Buxton on a months contract for the play-offs. Not necessarily to play...just in case of injuries etc.

Isn't McDonnell now available? If so, will feel like a new signing....

Not heard a lot about the lad but I've just read that Jamie Ward from derby has been released! Don't get me wrong I'm sure we won't be looking at championship players next year as we will be back in the premiership but if we don't make the promise land he is a very good player! I'm sure he's caused many teams in that league problems! Very quick and has a goal or two in him!

Jamie Ward is a very good shout - if we're in the championship next season.

What we don't want is to get overloaded with too many 30+ players & players who are injury prone.

The best young players from the lower leagues will do me.

Never even heard of him before this article......but is exactly the sort of player this club must target. Young and will want to come.
Once he gets the standard of coaching we offer at this club, who knows what he may turn into.

A potential squad player IF we remain in the championship.

I was going to say we are only likely to splash £200K IF we get promoted to the Premier League. ;-)

Always good to be linked with decent young players.

Phew! Thought it might be Lee Martin for a minute.

Know nothing about him but if he comes it will be because MM & TC believe in him.

I would welcome Jamie Ward too. Why not go for Darren Bent, shows he is still a true blue by missing that penalty for us Saturday!

The sort of fee I would expect us to be spending even if we are in the championship next season ... Which i of course hope we won't be! Attendances have been good this season, whilst the extra play off game will bring in revenue.

I know nothing about him. Could be another Freddie Sears. However, I won't say he's worth a punt purely because he's an Ireland U21 international. Just remember that Conor Sammon plays for the senior team!

If we go up or not we need younger strikers for next year! apart from Didz(that is if we see him again hope we do he offers so much) all our strikers are over 30 and I cannot see Murph another season like this one(bless him) Freddie is a must so 2 more please Mick
