Season Tickets Back on Sale
Tuesday, 19th May 2015 16:26

Town season tickets for the 2015/16 season have gone back on sale. After the extended early bird deadline passed in April, sales were suspended until the Blues were certain which division they would be playing next season.

Speaking shortly after the deadline, Blues MD Ian Milne said sales had been “buoyant” with revenue up “eight or nine per cent” on the same stage last year and sales at more than 12,500, an increase of around 1,000 on a year previously.

Season tickets can be purchased via ITFC Direct, where the Blues’ new home kit can also be pre-ordered.

Meanwhile, Town have revealed that the average home gate was up by almost 15 per cent during 2014/15 compared with the previous campaign.

A total of 450,855 watched Town’s 23 Championship games, while 393,542 were at the matches in the 2013/14 season, an average increase of 2,500 a fixture.

The biggest home gate of the season was the 29,166 who watched the play-off semi-final against Norwich, while the second-highest overall attendance was for the FA Cup replay against Southampton in January, 27,933.

The highest league gate was the 26,157 that saw the 3-0 victory over Charlton in December.

Any idea how many have already been sold Phil?

Given they presumably only went back on sale yesterday, probably not much more than the 12,500 quoted at the deadline.

£536 in the Lower SBR.

I'll only make 10 home games at a guess. If it was £400 i'd probably take a punt and 'hope' to go to a few more.

Good to see attendances up last season. Now let's see Evans spending increase this summer.

dirtyboy - it was £411 at early bird prices. IMHO the club ought to extend the early bird period up to 1st June to help fill the ground and help cheer us all up.

Also SAR and SBR upper are way over-priced in comparison to the lower.

Waiting for my ST to arrive and hoping that we have dumped all the damned green of last season's ticket in favour of some more blue. Hated that design !!

Dirty boy, quit bitching & whining, if you were supporting Bournemouth this season, the average was £600!

Bournemouth actually play good football, bayern Munich season ticket is 100 quid, saw an article that said it was actually cheaper to go to watch inter Milan including travel fair with Ryanair, you can price people out of football

Agree jas0999 Lets see some real commitment from the invisible man, we really need to sign some quality sort out the shambolic back four situation to compliment our talented younger players. And get us playing attractive football once again.

Might it not have been a good idea to have never suspended sales. Many more might have taken a punt on buying a ticket whilst Premiership football was a possibility. Had that scenario have materialised the club could well have afforded any shortfall in revenue due to the cheaper tickets because of the 'Premier League bonanza'.

Irrelevant I know, but my friend has an excellent seat season ticket at Bournemouth and it was £480 last year. Up to £550 for the coming season - fewer games, but better quality.

I live in Poole so cannot do a season ticket for Town - but if I was only coming to 10 games I'd pay game by game rather than waste my money on season ticket i couldn't use ...

Don't worry - I haven't been tempted by Bournemouth either !

Although a long standing Season Ticket holder I missed the Early Bird deadline, deliberately, as I was not sure about my availability on Saturdays next Season. I anticipated that post Early Bird price would be only marginally higher. I am astounded to find that it is about £150 ! Do the calculation, I would only have to miss two games before I would lose money by having a Season Ticket - a complete disincentive to purchase. The pricing policy is Oh so wrong and the Club is losing, or has already lost a generation of supporters despite increased gates

Same story here Westy, although it was totally my fault I missed the 'early bird' as I stupidly put the wrong date on my calendar for the deadline! That slip up has cost me £150! I'm likely to miss a few matches, so the only real benefit for me was getting the kids season tickets for a £10 each. This is one of the few ticket policies the club has got right, it's just a shame it's only for under 11s and not all children.

Also, the Club did not state what the non Early Bird price would be prior to the Early Bird expiring. Surely it is within the wit of man to state both scenarios - Premiership or Championship. Without knowing what the alternative price is, the Early Bird 'discount' didn't actually mean very much.

Meant to add that it seems for the first time in nearly twenty years I will not be renewing my Season Ticket. Surely the Club should take more sensible approach. I think very few will be sold at the post Early Bird prices.

Can,t understand you lot. I,ve been supporting the Town for more than 70 years now . I,ve renewed my season ticket, and would have done if we were playing in the Conference [or whatever it,s called now]. So come on you lot get behind the boys.C,mon Boro.

BlueBongo, my earlier comments stated that I didn't renew pre Early Bird deadline as I wasn't sure if I would be available to go to matches on a lot of Saturdays next season because of other commitments. It has nothing to do with being disloyal or a part time supporter. I am anything but. Supported the Club from childhood and seen them play at over fifty other grounds. It is simply that the post EB price is too highly priced to be viable to buy compared with buying tickets on a match by match basis. Add to this that I, as a lot of fans do, have to travel to Ipswich for the privilege and incur all the expense of that in addition to gaining entry to the stadium, something the Club had never acknowledged. While I'm on the subject of travel, the train disruption Season just gone was without precedent. Fans living in Ipswich have it relatively easy. Also BlueBongo, if you have been watching the Boys for 70 years I take you are retired and have plenty of time to do what you need to during the week to be available on match days. I work full time so not my case at the moment. Presumably you also benefit from a hugely discounted ticket price.

Fair comment Westy, yes I do get a discounted season ticket, and I live quite close to Portman Road, so supporting the Town is easy for me. Do hope that you,ll be able to get to some of the games next season. I,m hoping for a top 2 spot providing we can keep hold of Mick and the squad.
