Fraser: Big Season Ahead of Me
Monday, 29th Jun 2015 08:18

Winger Ryan Fraser says he has a big season ahead of him having joined the Blues on loan from AFC Bournemouth for the entire campaign as part of the deal which saw Tyrone Mings sign for the Cherries.

Speaking in an interview with the official Bournemouth website, the Scotland U21 international said: “It’s going to be one of the biggest seasons of my career.”

"For my age, I’ve had a few important seasons already but I need to get my head down.

“I need to show everyone what I can do. I need to play as many games as I can and improve little parts of my game.

“I need to get in more goalscoring positions and score more goals. But with playing more games and my confidence getting higher and higher, I’m sure I can do that.”

Fraser is out of contract at Dean Court next summer but talks are under way regarding a new deal with Cherries manager Eddie Howe seeing the 21-year-old’s long-term future at Bournemouth.

Meanwhile, Fraser and the rest of the Town squad start pre-season training at Playford Road this morning [Edit: now Tuesday morning, some of squad in for testing today, training proper starts tomorrow].

Arsenal youngster Ainsley Maitland-Niles is also expected to join up with the Blues with the 17-year-old’s loan move on the verge of being formalised.

Daryl Murphy, David McGoldrick, Christophe Berra and Kevin Bru have been given extra time off having been involved in international football until well into June.

TWTD will be at Playford Road for the annual first-day photo call with the squad and press conference with manager Mick McCarthy.

listening to Ryan Fraser's interview on bournemouth's website he sounds like a good lad, he made it sound like he really wanted to play for ipswich and help us get promoted, something i haven't heard in a long time from an ipswich loanee :)

Sounds like Ryan will be a great player for us. He will certainly help us towards promotion this year!

I look forward to seeing pics from the first day photo call. No Murph, Berra, Didz and Bru though.

....he'll love it at Town,(like they all do), and he'll want to stay, especially when Bournemouth are relegated, and we are promoted.

ArnieM.
Concentrate on ITFC. Why would you wish Bournemouth ill? They play great football and hopefully will be able to replicate that in the top flight. And they've just played a massive role in what looks as if it could be a great deal for us.

I think Arnie M is thinking more about the increased possibility of a permenant deal if they were to be relegated. However I for one do hope they come straight back, there was a lot of arrogance from them and their fans last season. They were certainly belittling of us even though they were unable to beat us!

Agree we Simonds92 hope they come straight back down and think they will, hardly going to be outpassing sides in the prem.

They are a small club with a good manager and lots of money. Also incredibly arrogant and disrespectful, does no one remember Eddie Howes comments about us. And yes sign Fraser on a permanent when they come down :)

Ryan ripped them up when he was up here with Aberdeen. As long as he tracks back should be first choice for MM!

don't worry too much, we don't play with wingers, we just give it to tommy and he hoofs it.

No sarcasm was intended, I just feel like when we loan players from premier league teams like ryan tunniclife they never sound that excited to joining us, but obviously because of our good season last year players are now interested in joining us

He should start the season in the team. He's exactly what we need. We are only part way through the transfer season, and already we have a much improved squad. We could be a really challenging team this season.

Last year of his contract and we have him for full season.
Brilliant, if he does well and settles he can sign up for free at end of season or for a nominal fee in January. He has great motivation which works in favor for everyone!

Can players entering last 6 months of contracts still sign pre-contracts with new clubs?
