Thursday, 2nd Jul 2015 10:58

Town’s new Barcelona-style away strip goes on sale at Planet Blue from tomorrow at 9am, however, there is a delay with the supply of some children’s sizes.

The club's official technical kit supplier, adidas, has informed the club that there are delays with the supply of youth sizes which will impact upon stock levels, however, there will be all sizes of the new shirt will be available for Friday's launch.

James Osborne, adidas’s director of clubs, said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances we can confirm that there will be a short delay in the delivery of the full allocation of kids’ stock to the club.

“adidas would like to officially apologise for any inconvenience these delays might have caused and remain committed to resolving the situation as soon as possible.

“adidas will continue to work closely with the club in the coming weeks and will ensure fans are kept fully up to speed on the situation.”

Town MD Ian Milne added: “We sincerely regret this delay in being able to meet some of the demand for junior shirts, but we are working hard with adidas to remedy the situation as quickly as possible.

“Our partnership with adidas has to date been very successful, as shown by our fans’ demand for both home and away shirts. Please bear with us whilst we overcome this current supply difficulty.”

The new away strip and away goalkeeper’s kit will be at Planet Blue from 9am on Friday, while orders are already being taken online at ITFC Direct. Those placed before 3pm will be despatched for delivery from tomorrow. The new home kit is already on sale.

Ian Milne : "we are working hard with Adidas to remedy the situation".
You've got to laugh at this big business talk. Is he stitching some up in the boardroom as we wait patiently?

Don't really like this kit anyway. The yellow stripes look budget and the while idea of having a half blue away kit baffles me. Good job the home kit is good!

I genuinely hate both our new kits... I thought they would grow on me, but if anything, my feelings towards them have got worse.

As long as we play like Barcelona who cares?

The history books talk about the Cobbolds with admiration for Arsenal modelling ITFC on the Gunners. I have no idea if that went as far as the kit but certainly in my opinion the home kit should always be a variant of royal blue body and white sleeves. Likewise we should opt for a change strip colour and STICK to it. People will still buy new kit (and I bet just as much of it) but we'd have a proper identity both home and away.
