Kit Man Beesley Moves On
Monday, 6th Jul 2015 17:47

TWTD understands Blues kit man Paul Beesley won’t be returning to the club for the new season.

Popular former Leeds, Wigan and Sheffield United defender Beesley, 49, was added to the Portman Road staff by his one-time Latics team-mate Paul Jewell in 2012 and remained at the club after Mick McCarthy took over, despite still being based in Sheffield.

We understand ex-Blues keeper James Pullen (pictured during his playing days with Town) will be taking on kit duties in addition to his role as masseur in the short-term, working with assistant kit man Ken Goody.

Masseur and kit man. The team will take the field stinking of 'deep heat'.

This is the final straw. McCarthy really should stand aside now. If he can't get the right man on board to get rid of some tough bovril stains from a players under crackers then we have no chance of recruiting a team worthy of the premiership. Maybe the kit man has heard about all the scum players that wear women's underwear and decided to switch allegiances. A total joke.

Absolutely gutted about this - apparently a great character in the dressing room and always had some good banter with the West Stand crowd. Good luck Paul Beesley

What a disgrace! Where's the ambition? Can't chase promotion without a dedicated kit-man.

Not actually finding some of these posts funny, sorry to say.... Do you have any idea what an ENORMOUS amount of kit needs to get sorted at a pro club in the course of a week?

Am amazed at the total ignorance of the comments, if you have no knowledge of what the kit man role entails then either find out or don't post such rubbish, this is the engine room of the club and 60 + hours a week to make it work properly !

Skins and tops it is then. Anyone got a couple of jumpers for goal posts?

From Micks remarks recently when he said a squad of 22 is fine,am not sure we will see any of the £8m spent similar to when Cressey was sold.
However it is not now that we would feel the pinch but later in the season;so am surprised that JAS has unusually been marked down.
Felt towards the end of last season one or two players were showing a little tiredness including Tyrone in his first full season, and there was also the long term injuries to Luke and Didsy, plus short term abscences which have to be allowed for.
However with several weeks to go could see another couple of new players, you never know with Mick

Mrbarcs ....

Why don't you apply if you are such an expert. ? I am sure a sense of humour is not essential for the role , so you should be a dead cert.

A shame, seemed like a great character to have around, always had a bit of banter with him on match days.

And so a chain of events began that lead to the by now infamous nude premiership team photo incident of 2016/17
