Clarke on Target for Pompey
Friday, 24th Jul 2015 21:23

Town centre-half Matt Clarke played the full 90 minutes and scored as Portsmouth beat Woking 2-0 at Kingfield in a friendly this evening. The 18-year-old headed home the second goal from a corner in the 32nd minute.

It was Clarke’s second game for his prospective loan club, having played the first 74 minutes of Pompey’s 2-1 victory over Coventry on Tuesday evening.

Earlier today, Portsmouth manager Paul Cook revealed that the clubs are in talks regarding Clarke joining his League Two side on loan.

Also on trial with Pompey and featuring in tonight’s match was former Blues keeper Brian Murphy, who was released by QPR at the end of last season.

Be great loan for him if he finally puts pen to paper!

As stated previously, would be a great move for him. But we need to sign a couple of players first!

.......... good enough to be featuring at Portman Road this season - not Fratton Park, or wherever they now play.

Well done Matt...keeping up the fine ratio of goalscoring by our centre backs! Could be a good loan move for you to gain much needed League match experience.
You are one destined to have a long future at ITFC.

Jas - I share your concerns about the size
of our squad -

However a player like Clarke, who clearly
has a big future ahead of him is not ready
at this stage of his career -

MM and TC have brought in a few new faces
without in my view changing the balance
of the overall squad -

Yes extra defenders and a real Number 1
are required - However I feel that MM will
be fully aware of this and then add either
Within budget or loan -

Have a good feeling that we are on our way.

See you all at Brentford -

....... our prayers have been answered - MM has confirmed that Tabby is certainly a considered option at Left Back ....... !!!!!!....... ?????

That kind of thinking should undoubtedly see us across the line in May - frightening thing is, some will take me seriously.
