Former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Giles Coke is training with the Blues and starts this afternoon’s friendly at Peterborough United (KO 3pm). Coke, 29 is to spend the next few days training at Playford Road.

The Westminster-born midfielder played youth football with QPR before moving on to Kingstonian, Mansfield, Northampton and Motherwell before joining the Owls in 2010.

While with Wednesday Coke spent time on loan at Bury, Swindon and towards the end of last season Bolton. He was released in the summer and was recently on trial with Blackburn.

Man give this 2 years ago with any of our previous managers and maybe I would of been on the same boat. But with Mick McCarthy at the helm, anyone who he considers fit to play for us I trust. He gets the best out of players and even if we did spend 8million what guarantee does that give apart from satisfying people that we have spent 8 mil? Just pipe down and let Mick work his magic.
