Guinean International With Town at Colchester
Tuesday, 28th Jul 2015 19:18

Guinean international striker or winger Larsen Touré in the Town squad for this evening’s friendly at Colchester. The 31-year-old is a former team-mate of Kevin Bru with Levski Sofia.

Touré started his senior career with Lille (pictured above in 2010) and had spells on loan with Gueugnon and Grenoble before joining his hometown club Brest on a permanent basis in 2010.

Three years later he moved to Bulgaria and Levski where he spent a year playing alongside Bru before returning to France and playing with Ligue 2 Arles-Avignon last season.

The 6ft tall attacker has won six full caps with Guinea. His father, Mady Touré, also played football in France, for Brest and Orléans.

Can he play at right back ,can we not stick to the program of buying in players who are square pegs for square holes. Season nearly upon us and you have to question the full back positions and holding mid ,with the loss of hyam and skuse unable to train or play. Might go for a trial myself ,seems the door is open. Two footed ,100 metres in under 12 seconds , right back for the last 5 years ,right wing prior to that. ( goals last season playing for not to bad a side.

Last season we didn't seem too concerned about signing strikers, in fact often we only had two available! This season we have four great ones. Very few defenders though, but seem like we want to sign even more strikers. No defenders. Odd. Very odd.

Can only assume that Mick's got a couple of defenders up his sleeve in the coming week...why else would we get shot of Mings,Hewitt and Clarke without bringing in replacements?

Let's not panic......yet.

"We lost Mings Hewitt and Clark" is the same as saying "we lost Mings" because the other two didn't or barely featured. We have Parr ready to move into left back from midfield last season and we have the 8 mill in the bank. Last season we didn't conceed all that many but we didn't score enough. We do need cover on the wings as we have no-one proven to step in if we lose one of the two loan boys to injury and one of them isn't exactly proven either although he seems to be up to the job. We need back up at left and right back. I'm not convinced that the right back position will be filled by a more attacking player or that the problem will be as pronounced if we have a right winger rather than a wife midfielder in front of Chambers.
