Biggest Ever Open Day on Thursday
Wednesday, 29th Jul 2015 13:49

Town’s annual Open Day takes place at Portman Road on Thursday with more activities taking place on the FieldTurf than in previous years (doors open 10am, entry free). More than 4,500 fans attended last year’s event.

As in previous years, fans will be able to watch manager Mick McCarthy and his assistant Terry Connor hold a training session on the main Portman Road pitch before they join the squad to sign autographs and have photos taken pitchside.

Boss McCarthy is a big fan of the event: “It’s lovely, it’s a nice day. I’m looking forward to it.”

On the FieldTurf behind the East of England Co-op Stand there will be, amongst many other attractions, coaching sessions put on by Town and the Suffolk FA, giant inflatables, bouncy castles, sand arts, Dream Team and Co’s Frozen Princesses, face painting from the East of England Co-op, Go Ape’s Segway Experience, the Yum Yum Cookery School, Seckford Golf, Just Jay Dance, 10-pin bowling with Namco Funscape and three horses from the Suffolk Punch Trust.

BBC Radio Suffolk’s Mark Murphy will be broadcasting live from 9am until noon, while the rest of the Life’s a Pitch team and several Blues legends will also be along and John Wark will be signing autographs. For more details visit the club site.

"Just Jay Dance" - is that Tabb all on his own then?

He's absolutely great is Tabby. Gets involved all over the place. Fantastic.

Good to see so many supporters giving credit to the club for this. Scum charge 3 quid a ticket to go stare at the legendary womaniser that is Kyle Laferty
