Monday, 24th Aug 2015 12:08

Town centre-half Christophe Berra has been named in the Scotland squad facing Georgia and Germany in Euro 2016 qualifiers early next month.

The Scots face the Georgians in Tbilisi on Friday 4th September then the Germans at Hampden Park, Glasgow three days later.

Scotland are currently third in their qualifying group on 11 points after six games, two points behind Germany and three off leaders Poland with Daryl Murphy and David McGoldrick’s Republic of Ireland on nine points in fourth.

Berra, 30, has previously won 30 caps at full international level, scoring three goals.

Did Strachan not see Fraser's goal against Preston? Would be nice if he actually played Berra in one of these games.

@WeWereZombies - I suspect he'd already made his final decision on the squad before that goal went in. But I agree in principle, Fraser would not be out of place in that squad at all. He's a top Premier League player in the making.

Agreed. Wouldn't be surprised if Fraser features in a friendly for Scotland this season.
