Henshall, Stewart and Henly in U21s
Monday, 24th Aug 2015 17:30

Alex Henshall, Cameron Stewart and new keeper Jonathan Henly will be amongst those involved in this evening’s U21s game against Cardiff City at Portman Road (KO 7pm).

Former Reading man Henly, a Scotland U21 international, signed a one-year deal which includes an option for a further season after a successful trial at the end of last week.

The U21s have got their season off to a bright start, winning their first two games, but will have a number of regulars missing this evening as they are with the first-team squad for Tuesday’s Capital One Cup second round tie at Doncaster.

Henshall seems to be way down the pecking order now, shame as he looked quite bright on the ball from when i've seen him

Henshall also hit the ground running in pre season and drew praise from Mick, having had a personal trainer in the summer. Did well in the pre season games too seemingly.

Does that mean Alabi is in the squad for the game tomorrow?

Henshall impressed me with his display at Derby twelve months ago and I thought we might have something special.
With him playing tonight despite a number of fringe players seemingly involved tomorrow does suggest that he is a long way from first team consideration.

These guys are clearly a little way off the first team. But MM couldn't be any fairer; work hard and you stand a chance. I'm guessing Stewart and Henshall don't put into a good enough shift. It's a shame, because in the absence of Fraser or AMN, we lcoukd do with other options.
