Thursday, 8th Oct 2015 16:04

Loanee Blues winger Ainsley Maitland-Niles scored a late second goal having come on as a substitute as England’s U19s beat hosts Macedonia 2-0 in the opening game of their Euro 2016 qualifying group in Skopje this afternoon.

The 18-year-old came off the bench in the 74th minute and headed his goal four minutes into injury time, Newcastle’s Adam Armstrong, who is on loan at Coventry, having scored the first on 67.

Maitland-Niles, who is on loan with Town from Arsenal for the season, has now scored in each of his first two games for the England U19s having netted in the friendly in Germany last month.

The England youngsters next face Finland on Saturday and then Italy on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Town winger Tommy Oar started for Australia in this afternoon’s World Cup qualifier against Jordan in Amman but was replaced at half-time. The game is still going with the home side 1-0 in front at the time of writing.

He's done exceptionally well for England and Arsenal, we need to play football to get the best out of AMN and Fraser imo then the goals will come

unfortunately i dont believe we will play the passing game on the grass as long as hoof it Mick is in charge playing this hoof ball game limits the effectiveness of skillful players i am afraid ,that is why some players do very well at other clubs but when they join us and are asked to play a different style they look very average.
