Grays Striker Dumaka on Trial
Monday, 9th Nov 2015 20:37

Grays Athletic striker Dumebi Dumaka is joining the Blues on trial. The 21-year-old is set to spend the week at Playford Road.

Dumaka has scored 16 goals in 16 games for the Ryman League Premier Division side this season with the Blues reported to have watched him as he netted twice during last month’s 4-0 home victory over Lewes.

West Ham have also been strongly linked with the former Heybridge Swifts and Barking frontman, who joined Grays in the summer of 2014.

Town boss Mick McCarthy has previously had notable successes when dipping into non-league having signed Michael Kightly from Grays when Wolves manager and picking up Tyrone Mings from Chippenham Town for the Blues for £10,000 and selling him in an £8 million deal in the summer.

Sign him up, let him train with Didsy and trained by TC to become Didsy Junior.

...... got to be worth a chance - Ryman League Premier is a good level - and natural goal scorers will do so at any level, with the right coaching.

Always worth a punt - his record is impressive. Get in here young man and give it your best shot.

This is what Keane should have been doing, though he doesn't know a player(Rhodes)so pretty pointless..

I hope it happens because this type of signing is something that we all get pleasure from, rather than a player making a step sideways(in their eyes)and no better than we have, plenty of those around..

Good luck to the lad, hope he impresses..

Rather us give a trial to the pacey/tricky winger! The Number 7! Certainly is potential in the lower leagues! For a very small fee and low wages could be worth a punt! Can't help but think he looks/reminds me of big frank 😁

He reminds me more of a black version of Murphy. Strong physically, and quick .

I still can't believe the number of games big Frank played for us... absolute donkey.

Hope this Grays striker turns into a bargain but their number seven seemed like a better player

This guy and alabi playing up top for the u21's and being trained by terry could turn them into very exciting prospects

Looks like a McCarthy type of player to me. Hopefully be better on a flat pitch although like town the ball is in the air most of the time.
Agree with others that No7 looks far more exciting but he wants to run at players with the ball on the ground. It'll never catch on!!

Pretty obvious to me this is the line will take on future recruitments (apart from freebies and loans) - there are always 'diamonds' in the rough we just really need to find them. Would also be good if we could unearth a decent attacking midfielder as well.

Will be interesting to see if we have another 'quiet' January transfer window but I suppose it depends how we fair over the next month and a bit.

Phil @ TWTD - Do you know if MMcC gets a percentage on the profits made on players like Barry Fry and Harry Redknapp (amongst others did)? Just strikes me that with the reputed £1 million bonus for keeping us in the championship three years ago and a potential percentage of the £7.9 million profit on Mings why on earth would he want to get us promoted and risk losing the golden egg?

Like a couple of the posters on here reminded me of Frank Nouble who would also probably do ok at this level,if he isn't there already(where is he anybody know?)

Already have Alabi, who I wasn't impressed with when saw him playing for under 21's

Still up to Mick;but would prefer one big signing in Jan to help in push for Prem

You look at the likes of Luke Varney playing non league 3 years ago and now one of the best English strikers we have and in my opinion too right the guy is a real talent and you can see he really enjoys his footie unlike alot of top footballers that are just doing it for their massive pay cheques

Nouble is in China, not sure who he's playing for. Where's Chopra at HM's pleasure wouldn't surprise me

NO. Nothing much about him apart from physical presence. A typical MM CFwd somewhat like Nouble who really was a donkey. I'd say the majority of MM's signings haven't been up to much with a few notable exceptions. Remember Mings was recommended by Russel Osman so doubt we would have picked him up without the introduction

something very Darren Bent - esque about him to me.
