Town Coaches Spotted Watching U's
Saturday, 14th Nov 2015 17:23

Town's U21s coach Mark Kennedy and academy director Bryan Klug were spotted at the Weston Homes Community Stadium this afternoon watching Colchester United lose 3-1 at home to Coventry City.

Amongst those who potentially could have been the reason for their trip are U’s Macauley Bonne - who scored Colchester’s goal - George Moncur and Callum Harriott, who is on loan from Charlton, while they may just have been taking a more general look at the teams managed by ex-Blues centre-halves Tony Humes and Tony Mowbray.

A fortnight ago Kennedy was seen at Broadhall Way watching Stevenage lose 5-1 to Oxford United.

Meanwhile, on-loan Blues winger Cameron Stewart came on in injury time as Doncaster Rovers won 2-0 at Blackpool.

Matt Clarke’s Portsmouth are in action at home to AFC Wimbledon tomorrow (Sky Sports One, 2.15pm) , while Josh Yorwerth missed Crawley’s 2-2 draw at Exeter as he is away with the Wales U21s.

I also went to that match today. If Colchester didn't have such a dodgy defence they would be riding a lot higher in the division.

Have thought for a while that I wouldn't be surprised if McCarthy was checking out Moncur. A very good player.

Armstrong didn't play, can't say I know much about the rest of their squad (other than veterans such as Tudgay and Fortuné), aside from the keeper who I believe is highly rated and signed a new contract recently: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34753732
