McGoldrick Still Sidelined
Friday, 20th Nov 2015 13:52

Striker David McGoldrick has been ruled out of Saturday’s home game against Wolves with the groin problem which saw him miss the 5-2 win at Rotherham and the Republic of Ireland’s play-off games against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

“He’s still injured,” manager Mick McCarthy said. “He’s got a pretty nasty groin injury, it’s turned out to be that way from a couple of weeks back when he started to feel it.

“He’s not trained yet, he’s nowhere near for tomorrow and I would think next week will be a bit too soon for him as well.”

Aside from McGoldrick, McCarthy says he has no other injury concerns aside from those who have been out longer term, although they are all making progress.

“Luke Hyam’s playing for the U21s at QPR, which is great for him, for us and for the club, and all the rest reported back fit,” McCarthy added.

Luke Varney is a little bit behind Hyam in his progress after his ruptured achilles, while Teddy Bishop is still “not quite ready” to return after his shin splints and hamstring problems.

That guy who's not played much or scored any recently will be badly missed.

Notice that when ITFC come up (before their homepage) response lists 4 players with their pictures. One is Stephen Hunt who until recently was still listed as a Town player but now it says former player.
Another is David McGoldrick who is now also listed as a former player. Not yet but given his contribution over last two years, feel he may as well be.

I'll get down arrows galore here but the sooner we cash in for upfront cash and shift McGoldrick's wages the happier I'll be. Need players who can play 46 games, not 12-25.

Yes on his day he's class but his injury record is a major issue.

Sadly he is very injury prone.

......... McGoldrick is a player that has an element of class about him - but equally one that will spend more time on the treatment table than on the pitch, for whatever reason.

Shame Matty Holland isn't at the Club in a position to get the message across that all should have the desire to play - or get out of the game, and find something more feminine.

Far too many sick notes in the game - some genuine, some most certainly not.

Blueboy1981 you cannot be serious. Don't slur McG like that, a groin is bad news - you can never have had one, it leaves you not able to kick a ball let alone stretch for one, tackle etc. He will be desperate to play especially with all the competition amongst our forwards this season.

rfretwell .............. the wording was / is .... 'for whatever reason'.

I didn't specifically mention 'groin' .......... maybe you cannot be serious, and should read the post correctly.
