McCarthy and Murphy Nominated for Awards
Thursday, 10th Dec 2015 08:10

Town duo Mick McCarthy and Daryl Murphy have been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Manager and Player of the Month awards for November.

McCarthy led the Blues to 10 points from a possible 12 during the month in which Town were unbeaten.

He is up against Derby’s Paul Clement, Middlesbrough’s Aitor Karanka and Brighton’s Chris Hughton for the gong.

McCarthy was previously shortlisted for the award for August and won it for the first and so far only time with the Blues in September last year when Tyrone Mings was named Player of the Month.

The Town boss picked up the award three times with his previous clubs, once with Sunderland and twice with Wolves.

Murphy ended his goal drought with a hat-trick - his first in 11 years - in the 5-2 win at Rotherham and went on to net six goals in three games. He previously won the award in December last year.

Also nominated are Brighton’s Solly March, Leeds United midfielder Alex Mowatt and Derby goalkeeper Scott Carson.

The winner of both awards will be announced on Friday at 6am.

McCarthy had a great month but probably not the best. Murphy deserves it for sure. Who will be up at 6am for that announcement?!?

Neither should win. Mr stubborn shud not win for picking the same atrocious back 5 every week despite countless errors. And Murphy should not win because he's a useless donkey. Be realistic we played 3 of the bottom 4 and wolves (who we couldn't beat) I could score goals against those defences. They are on a level playing field with ours which includes the worst 2 full backs in the division, a goal keeper who is stuck to his line and 2 totally left footed centre backs with no pace. 10 points out of 12 was the absolute minimum we should have returned and December will show us for what we are, very very average until MM picks the right players in the right positions !!!!!!!!
