Hmmm...prices for next year will be interesting.

I think the Huddersfield initiative (179 adult ST's for first 10k seats) should be applauded, in fact it was by the whole ground last Saturday!

Compare that to the 500 odd quid a head for ours....

Season ticket prices next week. Could be interesting. Let's hope there will be no price rise. For me the lack of spending in the team since the Mings sale and countless savings on wages from the Summer, doesn't warrant an increase. Currently, I believe prices do not represent the product on offer in terms of quality of players signed and entertainment value. Well over priced in my opinion.

Agree in practice happybeingblue but if you make them cheap every game or for every old schmuck then you devalue the loyalty shown by season ticket holders and stuff. They are the life blood of the home games and deserve more credit than the rest of us because they have to invest a lot of money upfront before weve even kicked a ball.

FYI im not a season ticket holder because i live int' midlands these days so im not saying that with tinted specs.

Anyway, im sure there will be plenty of ST holders who would happily sort you one if you post in the forum or summit.

Why should Season Ticket holders subsidise others.

I'm more worried by the fact that we always seem to fek up on these ticket promotion games.

Oh dear, last time we played Preston and i know many people who paid the ten pound are still furious at what they sore,2 friends left at half time and vowed never to return whilst MM was there.Best to select upper tiers for this match so as to see more of the ball.

Good news about the promotion, any initiative to get new fans into the ground is to be applauded.

Raising season ticket prices would not go down well given the quality of football on display at the moment, the perceived lack of investment in the side (freebies and loans), the lack of young players fans can look forward to seeing develop, and the general discontentment in the football world about prices.

i am fine myself and i know a few season ticket holders :) but my point is i thought it was about trying to fill the ground and encourage new fans or those that cannot afford to go or have just not bothered in recent years due to whatever and we are not talking about every game are we, they only do a couple of these promotions a season.
trying to fill the ground should be a priority really but i think the club has lacked ideas on this for years

...... HackneyBlue - that's an added bonus of the Upper Tiers, close ups of the ball are guaranteed for all.

This is all well and good - but who will be keen to bring someone along knowing the entertainment value could be questionable ?

The beautiful game is no more at Portman Road - the current state / condition of the pitch is also a cause for some concern. I remember the days when it was not much short of Billiard / Snooker table.

Fond memories indeed.

£10 a game about right price when you consider whats on offer.

How about an offer where if you renew a season ticket you get cup games thrown in for free, not a bad idea as it would at least get numbers up for our non existent cup run games. Also a bonus to those who renew rather the the club just sucking u in early so it doesn't cost a bomb after May aswell as not allowing you to wait and see how your money is invested yet be disappointed when the money you invest goes anywhere bar I nto McCarthys spending budget.

They should do a season ticket promotion for next season....we certainly haven't had value for money this season....well I haven't.

BanksterDebtSlave ........... just keep on, and on, and on, and on, making excuses for everything - it suits some of you absolutely fine.

How dare we have the audacity to criticise anything associated with the Club ...... ??

I just wish we didn't have to - as was the case for an awfully long time, which some of us remember well.

I have plenty of criticisms, just don't feel to repeatedly air the same ones over and over again at every possible opportunity! You presume a lot about what I may or may not think.

The reason this is for guests of season ticket holders is two fold.

1. It's marketed as a benefit to ST holders so as to not annoy them.
2. If it was just £10 to anyone, they would have to offer that price to away fans.

carsey added 08:56 - Mar 3
Flashblue - I don't doubt you are correct but I think they ought to offer away fans the £10 deal. It would encourage more of them to come and at least there would be some sort of atmosphere in the ground. It may also encourage Rotherham to do the same for Town fans (assuming they stay up).
I appreciate it's a bit off topic but I believe all clubs should be charging realistic prices for away fans.
Regarding the ticket promotion - I already pay for a ST for one of my lads but he just won't go to games now because the standard is so poor. The two older ones aren't bothered either.
If the club even considered putting prices up for 2016/17 I think they will be in for a nasty shock - even if we get lucky and make the playoffs or by some miracle get promoted. No-one who has visited Portman Road this season will be sucked in by any amount of PR hype that comes out. We are bloody awful with no prospect of it changing in the near future - style or results.

It's not difficult maths for the club re promotion games is it . Tell season ticket holders at start of season that the price includes an allowance for four promotions in a season , then open up the offer to all.
Is that so difficult ?

I suspect our corporate management strategist thought, "We're only going to get 12,000 for this fixture - better do promotion."

I don't think I'm alone in thinking that all the ticket promotions the club keeps doing to tempt higher gates is undermining season ticket holders. It's starting to grate on me, why the hell don't the club reduce overall ticket prices. Are they too stupid to see that the price added to standard of football is why the attendances are on the decline. I can't give my season ticket away if I can't attend a match for whatever reason. If I do take a newby along to take in a game they vow never to go again to watch such drivel! Not rocket science ITFC. Reduce prices or put entertainment levels up.
