Bru, Maitland-Niles, Dozzell and Morris Could Win Caps
Saturday, 26th Mar 2016 10:10

Kevin Bru, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Andre Dozzell and Ben Morris will all be hoping to win international caps later today.

Midfielder Bru starts for Mauritius against Rwanda at home at the Anjalay Stadium in Belle Vue in the first of two African Cup of Nations qualifiers (KO 11am, UK time). They face the Rwandans away in Kigali on Tuesday.

Paris-born Bru has previously won five caps with Mauritius, who he qualifies to play for via his parents. His older brother Jonathan, who plays for AS Poissy in France, is the regular skipper of the side but misses out due to injury.

On-loan Arsenal midfielder Maitland-Niles is a likely starter for the England U19s when they take on Greece in the second game of their Euro 2016 elite round mini-tournament in Spain later this afternoon (KO 4pm).

The 18-year-old played the full 90 minutes and won his sixth U19s cap as his side defeated Georgia 2-1 in their opening game on Thursday.

The Young Lions, who are coached by Aidy Boothroyd, face the hosts in their final game on Tuesday. Only the winners of the group will progress to the finals in Germany in July. Maitland-Niles has won six U19 caps, scoring two goals.

Academy pair Andre Dozzell and Ben Morris are with the England U17s who face Finland at Leek Town’s Harrison Park in the second game of their Euro 2016 elite qualifying mini-tournament this afternoon (KO 3pm).

Midfielder Dozzell has previously won 10 caps at U17 level and striker Morris four.

The England youngsters take on Ukraine at Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium in their final game on Tuesday.

The teams which finish top of their groups and the best second-placed sides will go through to the finals in Azerbaijan in May.
