Henshall Joins Kilmarnock
Wednesday, 30th Mar 2016 11:11

Former Blues winger Alex Henshall has joined Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock on a short-term deal until the summer, having left Portman Road in January.

Henshall, 22, made one Capital One Cup start and four Championship sub appearances for Town having signed initially on loan from Manchester City in April 2014 before making the switch permanent during that summer following his release by the Premier League side.

The one-time Swindon Town youngster was left out of the first-team squad in the summer and made available for transfer before settling his contract at the end of January.

Henshall said: “Playing in the Scottish Premier League is an exciting opportunity for me. I’ve just finished my first training session with Kilmarnock and am excited about joining the team.”

Killie manager Lee Clark, who previously signed the wideman on loan from the Blues while Blackpool manager, added: “Having worked with [fellow new signing] Miles [Addision] and Alex before, I know their strengths and know they will make a positive contribution to the club.”

Over to you Alex. Clearly have the ability not convinced you're mentally strong enough to make it.

Good luck Alex, you'd never get in the team here, you are a wide player and they are almost extinct in these parts.

Cant believe in over 50 years supporting Town, of another Ipswich Manager who has brought in so many players, not given them a chance of first team football, and then got rid;as in McCarthy's case.

Does this mean poor scouting, some of which is now done on line I believe,or is it just bad judgement?

Seasider Mick did give the lad a go - he was lively away at Derby last season and I thought he may have played more.

A lot of Mick's signings have been low risk gambles - players like Henshall haven't exactly been demanded by league 1/ league 2 clubs for a months loan have they so as far as I can see they are hardly a loss.

I believe in Big Mick and what he is doing here but i think this lad could do very well elsewhere. Best of luck to him

Currie10 MM gave the lad a go-what planet are you on. He gave donkeys like Nouble a go. MM's transfer record is not great, I would think a higher percentage have been failures than successes.
Doesn't matter anyway as MM is taking the club no where but I do wish Hensall all the best & he will be playing at a higher level than the Championship although the Scottish league is hardly La Liga.
