Five Changes for Blues Against MK Dons
Saturday, 30th Apr 2016 14:26

Town make five changes ahead of this afternoon’s final home game of the season against the MK Dons with Teddy Bishop, Josh Emmanuel, Myles Kenlock, Dean Gerken and Christophe Berra all starting.

Luke Chambers (ankle) and Jonas Knudsen (knee) both miss out, while Bartosz Bialkowski, Paul Digby and Luke Hyam all drop to the bench.

Kenlock will be making his league debut and Bishop his first senior start of the season, while Berra is over the knee injury which forced him out of the Middlesbrough game last week. Midfielder Adam McDonnell, 18, is on the bench and could make his league debut at some stage.

The MK Dons include ex-Blue Dean Bowditch but there is no place in the 18 for on-loan QPR man Jay Emmanuel-Thomas or former Town keeper Cody Cropper, while Jonny Williams’s loan spell has ended.

Town: Gerken, Emmanuel, Smith, Berra, Kenlock, Skuse (c), Bru, Bishop, Feeney, Sears, McGoldrick. Subs: Bialkowski, Digby, Foley, McDonnell, Hyam, Varney, Pitman.

MK Dons: Burns, Baldock, Long, Walsh, Lewington (c), Potter, Carruthers, Powell, Bowditch, Murphy, Revell. Subs: Spence, McFadzean, Jackson, Kasumu, Baker, Furlong, Maynard. Referee: Keith Stroud (Hampshire).

I like the referee, Stroud.
Gave us a brave and correct penalty against Birmingham when Niles was fouled after an amazing run.

Yesterday when I heard Mick talking about playing youngsters I hoped this would be the team ...... youngsters mixed with experience & 2 out of the 3 miss attacking ...... and was really positive about the team/tofay.
Am absolutely delighted to see today this wasn't a "Mick bluff" and firstly well done for -at last - trusting our Acadamy output.
HOWEVER madMick cant resist it can he ........ Gerks for Bart !!!!!
Gerks is neither a youngster or short of games over the season (think him & Bart have played just about the same so please don't give me the "he deserves a last start" argument ...... why not next week ?) so it is hard not to see this as a big 2 fingers to the fans who constantly pleaded for Bart & when he finally got back in (after he was dropped because his dad died!) voted him player of the season.
Not playing the fans pos in the last home game ....... pathetic ...... you really are a bitter old dinosaur!!!!

Am I the only one pleased with this line-up? 3 Town youngsters in the starting line-up, only one holding midfielder, decent enough wingers, and all players in their best positions (including sears central I would hope). Nothing game so have no issue with dropping Bart today - it's clear Bart is the number one now so one game for Gerken isn't going to change that for next season - this is essentially a friendly.

Why have we started playing with one up front against the mighty MK?

Sears Feeney and Mck need binoculars to see each other at the moment.

Still Emmanuel looks promising and Bishop very lively!!

3 points coming today

The f'ing dinosaur couldn't wait for an excuse to play Gerken.

Does this mean that if (heaven forbid) McCarthy is still here next season Gerken will be the keeper in possesion? I rally hope not but with this stubborn devious man I wouldn't put it past him.
I really hope that we win 4 -3 with MK's 3 all being glaring goalkeeper howlers.
Just go McCarthy go NOW>
