Malarczyk Not Ruling Out Southend Return
Saturday, 7th May 2016 23:36

Available-for-transfer Town defender Piotr Malarczyk isn’t ruling out a return to his current loan club Southend United next season.

The 24-year-old Pole has failed to make an impact since joining the Blues from his hometown side Korona Kielce where he was skipper in August, making just three cup starts and three Championship sub appearances, and has been told he can find a new club over the summer.

Malarczyk moved to the Shrimpers, who are 14th in League One, in March and made his debut in last week’s 1-0 defeat at home to Bradford.

“I would be open to coming back here but I haven’t spoken to the manager so I will need to see what happens because I want to be playing regularly wherever I go,” Malarczyk told the Southend Echo.

“I think I will try and go on loan again next season because I want to be playing.

"This has been my first year in England and at times the differences have been quite big. But I will try to find something next year which means I can play more.”

The centre-half says he’s enjoyed his spell at Roots Hall: “I really liked my time here. I would like to have played more but I played the last game and hopefully I can play on Sunday [against Bury at Gigg Lane], too. We hope to get the win.”

a cracking signing by Mick there, hopefully that scout will have been ridiculed by the others with cries of "You're not very good, you're not very good ... "

Suspect this will be one of those where contract is terminated by mutual consent. Clearly not even good enough to play for Southend, so doubt they will want him back unless it's extremely cheap regarding wages and i see little point us paying his wages whilst on loan just to sit on the bench.

Sadly, like Cpke and Toure this has been another cheap signing which hasn't worked out.

Any signing that you pay £8.5K for is going to be a massive gamble. This one didn't pay off, they aren't all going to end up being like Mings. Still as it hasn't worked out it's a good stick to hit out at the manager with I suppose....

Agree Langdon, we aren't going to make big money signings, fact. Micks record for cheap, lower league signings isn't bad, but for every 6 or 7 signings, you may find 1 gem. Can't say I have a problem with this. Give them a chance, if it don't work out, move em on and try again. I seem to recall Southampton and Norwich building a team from the lower leagues in league 1 before gaining back to back promotions. Big money signings don't guarentee u promotion, ask Derby!

Suspect he may have found it hard (as Knudsen has also done, but more successfully in the end) to adapt to the style of English football.

Gamble that didn't pay off along the lines of Coke, Toure and crew. Hope he finds a new club.

Surely Coke wasn't a gamble at all. His track record spoke for itself and he has confirmed that was accurate.
Don't have a problem with trying younger guys out, you never know. But older players who haven't achieved anything previously are very unlikely to make it (yes I know there are exceptions). Does demand good scouting to identify potential recruits.
