The TWTD Questionnaire 2015/16
Thursday, 19th May 2016 09:25

As the dust starts to settle on the 2015/16 season, it’s time for this year's TWTD Questionnaire, the chance for you to look back in judgement on Town's campaign.

The results of the TWTD Questionnaire will be made available once TWTD's supercomputer, the Osborne 1.0, has finished the processing later in the summer.

It's quite long, so leave the odd question out if you can't decide on an answer, it doesn't apply to you, you're getting a bit bored or you're starting to feel tired. If you’re a TWTD member log on and your answers will be saved in case you want to leave them for a bit and come back later. All answers will be treated in the strictest confidence.

The TWTD Questionnaire has been run for more than 20 years now and is the biggest annual survey carried out amongst Town supporters with 2,438 fans responding last year. All the relevant people are made aware of the results.

I've done this for about 4 or 5 years now and most of my answers wouldn't have changed:

Season ticket - expensive
Matchday ticket - rip off
local tv coverage - poor
Where we will finish - play-offs

@PhilTWTD, am i right in thinking that someone (last season) suggested adding a question regarding entertainment value?

I recall you saying it was a good idea (me too) but this does not appear to be included in the list ....

Just like to point out Berra and Smith are on the all time favourite player list twice. Great questionnaire though.

I don't remember that, but as it was a year ago it's quite possible I've forgotten. I think to some extent that's covered by the overall rating of the season but agree there is also scope for a specific question. I'll take a note and will try and remember!

Given the recent ruling re Hillsborough, and subsequent alterations to advice from previous enquiries, would there be any merit in suggesting that the club puts forward a motion at the next League meeting suggesting the ruling on drinking in view of the pitch is quashed? Not sure if the standing areas rule might be looked at again too, given that football supporters can now rightly say that so long as policing is good, standing can be safe.

A bit late now but perhaps one for the future but, given the debate on this site over MM's selections, I would like to see a poll over the best player for each particular position.

We have Town's best goal but didn't we used to have a best opposition goal question as well? In the interest of fairness for the goalies how about best save? Particularly as Bart was our player of the season.

I totally respect what the questionnaire is trying to achieve but I really believe it is pointless, as I can't see it will change anything at the club.
In the cold light of day finishing 7th is irrelevant as we as a club have not achieved anything. What the focus should be on is how the team performed over 46 games and most importantly the style of football.
To get promotion or fighting off relegation playing route 1 football I can understand although do not agree with. To achieve absolutely nothing is unforgivable the fans pay good money and therefore should be entertained. Sorry but that is my assessment of the season. As far as next season I do not believe for 1 minute that the kids will be our saviour. It's not fair to put that much pressure on their young shoulders. 1 mistake and I'm sure McCarthy will revert to the same old players and tactics.
Instead of calling for McCarthy to go I challenge him to prove all the doubters wrong. If we finish lower next season but playing nice free flowing football bringing through young home grown talent mixed with decent bought in players I would be the first to congratulate McCarthy and for the first time in many years believe the club are on a steady footing going in the right direction.

As every year in the comments, a massive shout out to all the TWTD team for another season. All the hard work and effort isn't appreciated enough. Looking forward to next season onwards and upwards
