EFL Cup Draw Wednesday Afternoon Tuesday, 21st Jun 2016 18:55 The draw for the first round of the EFL Cup, formerly the League Cup, will take place on Wednesday afternoon at 1pm. The draw will be a Facebook Live event on the EFL Cup’s Facebook page, as well as Sky Sports’ website, apps and their Facebook page. It's the first time the draw for a major cup competition has taken place on Facebook. Host Tom White and former England midfielder Ray Wilkins will pick out the ties. Town are one of the seeded clubs in the draw, which is regionalised on a north/south basis with the ties taking place in the week commencing August 8th. Round one features 70 of the newly-branded EFL’s 72 teams with Newcastle and Norwich, both relegated from the Premier League in May, handed byes through to round two. Prior to the EFL Cup draw, Town’s Championship fixtures will be announced at 9am on Wednesday morning when they will be available on TWTD.
