Three Wins Out of Three For U18s
Saturday, 3rd Sep 2016 15:15

Town’s U18s made it three wins from their first three games as they defeated Cardiff City 2-1 at the University of South Wales this morning.

Midfielder Tristan Nydam put the young Blues in front in the first half, the Welshmen hit back after the break but Flynn Downes (pictured) secured the three points with a freekick.

Town’s U23s are next in action at Playford Road on Monday afternoon when they face Millwall (KO 1pm).

Meanwhile, Town keeper Michael Crowe was an unused sub as the Wales U21s were beaten 4-0 by Denmark at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground last night.

Crowe will be looking to make his U21 international debut when the side coached by ex-Blues midfielder Geraint Williams face Luxembourg at Bangor on Tuesday.

U18s: Wright, Meldrum, Marshall, Woolfenden, Murrell, McKendry, Downes, McGavin, Cahill, Nydam, Daniels.

I'm intrigued by the line-up. I know Dozzell and Morris are off with England, but does anyone know if any one of McDonnell, Blanchfield, Benyu, or McLoughlin still qualifies for the U-18s? Will they just be playing for the U-23s?

As you say, Morris and Dozzell away with England, the other four are too old and will probably be in the U23s on Monday.

Is this the start of a burgeoning successful career in management for Alan Lee?

Afraid cant say the same for Gerard Nash who is in charge of the under 23's

@Seasider

What do you know about Gerald Nash and his qualities? He's a much more experienced coach than Lee, and I guess Klug and his management wouldn't have put Nash in charge of the U23's if they didn't rate him higher.
