Wednesday, 21st Sep 2016 09:25

Town season ticket holders and club members can buy tickets to the Elton John concert at Portman Road on Saturday 17th June 2017 from 10am this morning.

The tickets, which don’t go on general sale until 10am on Friday, are available from Ticketmaster.

Details of how to buy accessible tickets and hospitality can be found on the club website.

The former Watford chairman previously played to a crowd of around 23,000 at Town in June 2004.

“We are delighted here at the club to be hosting one of the biggest entertainers in the world in Sir Elton John,” Town MD Ian Milne told the club site.

“I’m sure it will be a fantastic occasion for the thousands who will be at Portman Road on the night.”

Note to all fans local, from Braintree and employees of Archant. This is a ticket only event.

It's probably best not to rush and purchase ticket
as I am sure they will be offering an BOGOF deal
due to the lack of interest and extortionate pricing.

He was decent enough in the 70's and 80's with Bernie Taupin
but certainly not in these past 20 years or more

Ferguson. Read the story properly and you'll see they go on general sale on Friday. But club members and season ticket holders can purchase on presale from today. Got mine this morning. Cats whiskers. The prices are far from extortionate. Mine were £40 each plus the admin fee. There are more expensive ones at £60 off and £80+. But quite normal prices for a megastar. Just as last time he was here I'm sure it will be packed.

How do we (season ticket holders) get them online just seem to keep going round & round, not very clear? Or do i have to go in the shop?

Why would you want to? Sorry EJ fans but last time i saw him he was uncommunicative, didn't interact with the crowd and it seemed he was almost going through the motions. Bit like Van Morrison. I know he did a concert in LA not long ago and didn't come out for an encore because the crowds reaction displeased him. Hope those who do go enjoy it and get monies worth but i think I'll give it a miss.

I didn't receive an email yesterday. Ticketmaster says tickets unavailable.

So where in the stadium are the £40 places?

I got to see Elton John with Leon Russell a few years ago in small town Lakeland Florida. I remember it not being very well promoted/advertised.
Traveled there without tickets and bought them outside from someone who had extra for $60 each. Great night and so pleased i've seen him live.
Enjoy Portman Roaders, i did for the Tina Turner and Rod Stewart concerts.
