Marsden Saves Penalty on Leiston Debut
Saturday, 24th Sep 2016 20:11

On-loan keeper Jacob Marsden marked his Leiston debut by saving a penalty and keeping a clean sheet in the Ryman League Premier Division leaders’ 4-0 hammering of Met Police at Victory Road this afternoon.

Marsden, 19, who joined Leiston on a youth loan until January yesterday, stopped Elliott Charles’s spotkick with his side already 3-0 in front.

Elsewhere, Joe Robinson played the full 90 minutes as his loan club Boston United won 1-0 away at Altrincham in the Vanarama National League North.

Academy centre-half Travis Cole helped his loan side Lowestoft Town to a 1-1 draw at Wingate and Finchley, also in the Ryman League Premier Division.

Was there (as I said on the forum), he had a solid game and looks very commanding. Good distribution and definitely one for the future. Some good ITFC former youngster on display to. Jack Ainsley, Tom Winter and Byron Lawrence. The latter was different class and surely seems destined for another crack in the pro game.

The football was a delight to watch, back to normality for me on Tuesday tho 😩

Lawrence has been different class all season.....surely good enough for lower league pro at least?

Agreed on all points, havinit.

Whilst I try to see both teams when i'm over, I can't help but feel my £30 ticket for the Brighton game on Tuesday won't be as good value as a free-scoring, free-flowing Ryman derby for a tenner. Too late now, bought the ticket weeks ago! :/
