Lawrence Could Win Cap
Thursday, 6th Oct 2016 12:46

Loanee Tom Lawrence could win his fifth full cap when Wales face Austria in a World Cup qualifier in Vienna this evening (KO 7.45pm, Sky Sports One from 7pm).

The Welsh got their qualification campaign off to a positive start with a 4-0 home victory over Moldova last month.

Following today’s game Wales face Georgia in another qualifier at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday.

Lawrence, 22, is spending the season on loan with the Blues from Leicester City and has so far made four starts and one sub appearance.

What do people make of Lawrence so far? Only seen him vs Villa and didn't look fantastic but what was he like at Derby etc?

I think he's a good player whose has the ability to run at defenders and can sense the right pass to make. Seems to do his fair share of tracking back and helping out defensively. I would put him as one of our better players who, under a good manager, would be a real asset. Under ours, well your guess is as good as mine.?

I think he could be very good from what ive seen but it seems MM has him on a leash and not letting him do what he does best.
