Bishop and Bru Start Against Burton
Tuesday, 18th Oct 2016 19:15

Teddy Bishop and Kevin Bru return to the Town starting line-up facing Burton Albion for Grant Ward, who drops to the bench, and Jonathan Douglas, who misses out due to injury, as does Jonny Williams as a precaution.

McCarthy could start his team in either a 4-3-3 formation with Bishop taking the more advanced midfield role ahead of Bru and Cole Skuse with Freddie Sears and Tom Lawrence either side of Leon Best up front.

Alternatively, the Town boss could start in a 4-4-2 system with Sears up front alongside Best and Bishop on the right and Lawrence on the left.

Burton make two changes - skipper John Mousinho and Jamie Ward for Tom Naylor and Will Miller - to their XI and started in their usual 3-5-2 system.

Town: Bialkowski, Chambers (c), Webster, Berra, Knudsen, Skuse, Bru, Bishop, Lawrence, Sears, Best. Subs: Gerken, Emmanuel, Kenlock, Digby, Dozzell, Grant, Ward.

Burton: McLaughlin, Brayford, Mousinho (c), McFadzean, Turner, O’Grady, Akins, Dyer, Ward, Palmer, Irvine. Subs: Bywater, Flanagan, Williamson, Naylor, Miller, Choudhury, Harness.

I thought MM was going more positive until I saw Douglas only misses out due to injury. A month without a goal so let's drop the top scorer, hmmm....?

How silly I was for initially thinking he dropped Douglas to play more attacking football. Then you realise it's because of an injury.

Come on Bishop really want a good performance just to prove him wrong, however I'm guessing you will be played out of position on the right.

Shame that it takes an injury to Douglas for Mick to not play him!! Should have been dropped many games ago and Mick wouldn't be as hated as he is right now, so it's his own fault. I'll always support the club through thick and thin, but both the owner and manager are sadly making life very hard for us supporters!!
Come on lads, get a result, score some goals and play some nice stuff - but it sadly will only lengthen Mick's reign, which is mixed feelings!

Top goalscorer maybe but not done anything since his last goal. Good positive changes from what I can see

Doubt Douglas is injured, Mick is just too stubborn to admit he deserves to be dropped so has covered it up with an injury instead.

Good to see Bishop in the team finally and also a shame about Johnny.

Thought too Mick was making actual changes until I saw the enforced change due to injury to Douglas, Ward dropped? Bru back in?...Still wreaks of Mick not knowing what he's doing.

Saying that expect a narrow (probably flukey) win tonight - here's hoping...

The Special One injured. Yeah right. My money's on our super hero not wanting to admit that he might be wrong after all

Blimey Douglas getting pelters yet Bru isn't. Give me Douglas over that headless chicken ANY DAY of the week ( not that either are good enough )

C'mon Bish!

That has to be the most one sided first half I've seen in a long time. Should be at least 3-1 down. Appalling
