Patterson Wins Cap as All Whites Draw Tuesday, 15th Nov 2016 09:33 Blues youngster Monty Patterson started and won his ninth full cap as New Zealand drew 0-0 away against New Caledonia in a World Cup qualifier in Koné earlier this morning. Patterson, 19, played the first 58 minutes of a feisty encounter which the hosts ended with only 10 men, skipper Bertrand Kai having been sent off for a headbutt five minutes from time. The All Whites top their Oceania Football Confederation stage three World Cup qualifying group having taken four points from their first two games. On Saturday, striker or midfielder Patterson, who has scored one international goal, came on as a 60th minute sub as New Zealand beat the same opposition 2-0 in Auckland. Patterson, who is yet to make a senior appearance for the Blues, is currently on loan with Vanarama National League side Braintree Town.
