Chambers: We're Still Hurting After Forest Defeat
Wednesday, 23rd Nov 2016 12:27

Blues skipper Luke Chambers says he and the rest of the squad are still hurting after Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat to his former club Nottingham Forest.

"It's good to have another home game this weekend as we are itching to put right the Forest result," Chambers told the club site.

"We are still hurting from that result. Everyone was flat after the game and it's about picking yourself up and going again now.”

The 31-year-old says Saturday’s visitors QPR will be buoyed after new boss Ian Holloway’s first game in charge ended in a 2-1 home victory over Norwich City.

"We've got a tough game against QPR to focus on now, who will come here galvanised after winning at the weekend under their new manager,” he added.

"Ollie has immediately had an impact there but we don't want that to continue on Saturday at our place.

"We are in all this week to train and I'm sure the gaffer will have us working on a few things.

“We've conceded a few rubbish goals recently, from a defensive point of view, and that has to be addressed."

We all are chambo, players let us down on Saturday. Which is a shame as we fielded the 11 that most fans wanted us to. The fact that Forrest hadnt won away from home before Saturday is embarrassing.

That will be because you're in defence. Nothing personal but your days as an Ipswich Town player should be ended right now, granted, with a few others too, because you're simply way below the required standard at this level. If you were all 'flat' after Saturdays game what the hell were you during it?? PUNCTURED i'd say, maybe even blown out. And if you think you're hurting spare a thought for us fans!! I'd love to be proven wrong but I foresee more hurt come 16.45 on Saturday. And if by a miracle we do get a win all it will be doing is papering over the huge cracks that the once enjoyable to visit Portman Rd sits on!!

If you have not got the ability it does not matter how much you train it will still happen again and again which it has over the past eighteen or so the problem will not be addressed until personal are changed in players and management.

Heads should roll after last saturday. Few would argue that chambers should not even be in the team after that performance. If mick picks the same old tired faces for this saturday then no one should be surprised if its same result

I'm sure it'll be the same training they do every week. McCarthy only has one way of doing things and he'll never change!!

Groundhog Day!
He says they are in all week as if it's a special effort. Doesn't it cross his tiny mind that that's what the working man does except they put in numerous more hours for a small percentage of his inflated wage packet

What hurts me the most...is I like at our side and feel it's actually a good squad with a couple additions we'd be real challengers for top 6. Then i watch how we play football and just don't understand! Take Teddy for example he was awful against Forest and I'm sat there thinking why!! New boss new ownership fresh start!

Good so you should be hurting, the team is useless at times.
We'll get a draw at the most on sat the atmosphere has gone.
Welcome back to the Keane & Jewell days!!
Crap!!!!

Good you let us down and should be dropped! If you carry on like that you and the rest of the team will cost a man who has spent his life in football his job. Ipswich has a rich history and think who has come before i.e. Burley and who you are representing. Have some F?@"!ng pride or foxtrot Oscar!

Talk is cheap we'll know if you and the rest of the team mean it a 5pm on Saturday

HURTING? you and the rest of the squad should be ashamed of yourselves, but you won,t be, because in all honesty you don,t give a monkeys a_rse about ITFC or its fans!! you will climb into your luxury car come Saturday evening, head off home to your plush home and count your coffers,
There is only one member of this so called team that i would buy a pint for and he happens to be Polish! at least he tries his best every week and without him we would be truly stuffed!!

"We are in all this week to train..." Gosh, you mean you are all working a full week like the mugs who pay to watch you make fundamental mistakes. Let us all hope that the time training together is spent more constructively than it was last week.

Sort it out now or give the captain's armband to someone who can.

Insightful, in depth, penetrating - these are all the things I want from a TWTD article.

Please start providing them.

Chambers, you and various others dont seem to be bothered. Week in week out its the same contrived clap trap interviews. ITFC is a farce of a football club, run by an anonymous millionaire, managed by McCarthysaurus. Both running it into the ground. I will not go while this situation continues.

Not as much as I was at 5 last Saturday, can guarantee you that.

Yeah, it'd be lovely if you bothered to turn up in the first place!!

All this '...we're hurting still'.

Don't be searching for sympathy.

"We are in all this week to train and I'm sure the gaffer will have us working on a few things."

Like concentrating from the start and not immediately marauding up the pitch at kickoff?
