McCarthy and Milne at PLC AGM
Tuesday, 29th Nov 2016 15:06

Manager Mick McCarthy and managing director Ian Milne will answer questions from shareholders at the Annual General Meeting of the Ipswich Town PLC, which will take place in Portman Road's Sir Bobby Robson Suite on Wednesday 21st December it has been announced (Doors open 6.30pm, start 7.30pm).

The PLC owns 12.5 per cent of Ipswich Town Football Club Co Limited and consists of the club's shareholding prior to the takeover nine years ago with Marcus Evans owning the other 87.5 per cent. The meeting is open only to shareholders or their proxies.

In addition to the PLC’s own accounts, shareholders are also provided with a summary of the club's accounts for the year to the end of June, which will also be posted on the official website in early December.

McCarthy and Milne also recently answered questions from fans at the Supporters Club AGM.

One question which we ALL want to be answered is "Will there be any money spent on transfer FEES this window? Not for loans and to pay wages, but to find a replacement for Murphy and in the other areas!!

What's the expression : a good day for burying bad news? Why not have it actually ON Christmas Day to keep the numbers down to zero rather than the dozen that will turn out on 21st Dec? As a 'senior shareholder', I notice that the annual special event for us daft enough to put a few thousand into the club has been slyly dropped from the schedule : this AGM event will also be full of sycophantic yes-men/women if the past is anything to go by, so I won't be going for fear of being sick in my seat. No-one asks difficult questions at these because it is not in the 'spirit' of the evening : fairly similar to the fawning interviews on Radio Suffolk in fact.

As a shareholder and in agreement with DaleyITFC we need to attend and ask the questions which have been passed over for the last 12 months. We should be more like Norwich and put the board and ownership under question. Reckon the date was put back hoping for better results. Before Xmas.

'when is Marcus Evans selling the club as he has lost interest in trying to achieve promotion?'

Agree with everything on here from shareholders.

I also have found such meetings self congratulatory previously;but then so was the supporters AGM until this year.

Agree as it is near Christmas, attendance likely to be lower than usual;but expect as Daley says likely to be a glass half full(or more)event unless Towns position deteriorates between now and then.

As it will be in the 'season of goodwill'wonder if there will be any free goodies;but bet it wont extend to alcoholic beverages, although budget might stretch to free tea and coffee!

No doubt Milne will say there is some money available in January if Mick wants it, then we will end up with a loan or free transfer. With Town looking very unlikely to make the play-offs and very unlikely to get relegated can anyone really see Town spending in January? I expect Milne will talk about how loan players are not cheap and how we pay relatively big wages.

Whatever we ask will be answered by the equivalent of political spin telling us nothing, and we should not have the audacity to ask how our!!!!! club is being run.

.......... they don't have to be too clever in all honesty - fair too many prepared to hear, and accept, whatever the head honchos have to say.

Unfortunately there aren't enough of us who can see through the debacle our Club has become.

Mushrooms are always closely related to 'horse' ..... manure ..... !! Truth will always hurt .......... and this post will probably be removed.

Both resigning hoped. One is pointless the other is a stubborn deluded dinosaur.

1/ Evans won't sell the club, the main reason being it's well in the red so not exactly an attractive proposition.
2/ McCarthy isn't being sacked anytime soon nor will he resign.
3/ Even if funds are available in January and decent players are for sale, im sure they will sign for a club with promotion hopes and a whole lot richer than us.

Kirbmeister
1/ Agree
2/Agree. He won't resign and won't be sacked. As fans we need to work out how to react to that.
3/ Think we will sell in Jan. A significant bid for Bialkowski may force us to sell and the money will go back into club for expenses etc. I simply can't imagine a player playing that well consistently for us will remain at the club.

I am also a shareholder. I would like to be present but the short notice means that I already am committed that night. There are fundamental questions to be answered but I very much doubt that this forum will provide those answers.

If it wasn't done to death last December, focus on what happened in January 2015 and how any mistakes from then could be avoided next time around. Either we should have spent big then, or gone up with the team we had.

I am a shareholder but cannot attend the meeting because I live abroad
but as the club monitors the board they may get asked (in my dreams)
1.Will serious money be spent to replace Murphy?
2.What are the board doing to address the continuing decline in match day attendance?
3.Do the board find the standard of football acceptable?
4.Do the board find the entertainment provided at Portman Road acceptable?
5.What are the board doing to address the run down nature of Portman Road, specifically the mould growing on Sir Bob` portrait on the side of the club shop?
6.Any chance of ME selling the club to someone with ITFC interests at heart?
7.Have ITFC given up on Cat 1?
8.Will the match day catering ever be bought up to an acceptable standard?
9.What are the board doing to address a decade of decline?
10.The club has the feeling of one in terminal decline would the board agree, if not why?
