FA Cup Prices Announced
Friday, 9th Dec 2016 20:58

Town have announced the ticket prices for the third round FA Cup tie against Vanarama National League Lincoln City at Portman Road on Saturday 7th January (KO 3pm).

Adult tickets will cost £10, concessions £5 and under-16s £2, with everyone attending, including season ticket holders, required to purchase a ticket.

Blues MD Ian Milne says the club would have reduced adult prices even further had they been able to do so.

“We would have gone lower with our adult price but we have to follow FA guidelines with pricing for cup games so we have set it at the minimum,” he told the club site.

With away clubs able to take 15 per cent of a ground’s capacity in the FA Cup, the Cobbold Stand will be set aside for the Imps, who are expected to bring a significant following.

Town will also not be opening the upper tiers of the Sir Bobby Robson Stand and Sir Alf Ramsey Stand for the tie.

Season ticket holders whose regular seats are in the closed areas will be given first priority when purchasing tickets ahead of other season ticket holders. Details of the dates of sale, which will be next week, will be announced on Monday.

£10 saved. Not going after fiasco last year. McCarthy has no interest in this competition.

Have to say I'm impressed the club are pricing this at a tenner each. Hopefully Lincoln supporters will turn up in force a create a decent atmosphere.
My one concern is that with them giving priority to season ticket holders in the closed areas of the ground does this mean my seat in the North Stand Lower could be sold before I get chance to buy it.
Unless I am missing something it isn't clear on TWTD or the club website.

I doubt many people will be up for this game. Shame it can't be cheaper for league games but obviously £27 is the lowest the club can possibly go!

Think season ticket holders will get their own seats - except in the closed areas - if they want them. Has always been that way in the past in similar circumstances.

Disappointing for Giles and Diggers that they miss out. Reg to lead the line. Didz on the bench in case we need a worldy to salvage a late late draw. Bargain bin game. Tickets from Poundland. Will be good to see the Cobbold full. Sad day.

Good to read the club have reduced prices to this level, but I suppose given the awful cup performances we dish out we couldn't charge more against a non-league side. The 1-0 defeat to Stevenage earlier in the season was a horrible evening and no way worth the £12 charged. The 2-2 draw with Portsmouth in the FA Cup last year while a bit more entertaining saw the League 2 side have 68% of possession at Portman Road with twice as many shots on target as us. We need to sort out our cup performances, especially as we're clearly not going to do anything in the league this year. Give the fans something to cheer about!

With wholesale changes to the team and MM always admitting he does not like cup games I and many others will choose not to go. I love the FA cup and always have done but I will not go again until the manager or his mentality changes. As a season ticket holder I can go and watch the reserve games for free, but the club want to charge me £10 to go and watch the reserves in action in the FA cup! I don't like seeing my team outplayed by a lower league club, that hurts. Now......... if the players brought in played well and kept their place instead of under performing favourites I may have taken a different view. Good luck Emmanuel and Kenlock, it's the only time you'll get game time barring injuries!

The FA Cup as it used be known and loved by fans and players is long dead now. If thd Club's can't take it seriously, why the hell should the fans.

I won't be wasting my money watching a meaningless game where MM will undoubtedly put out 11 players that never play as a "team" under normal circumstances.

Good Luck to Lincoln. It means more to them than it does Town.

Should be £10 every week. Discusting how much it costs to watch a game of hoofball

This would be the ideal time for MM to put out a realistic side in a cup competition that many of us hold dear. Many of our stay away fans might be tempted at these prices of entrance, while many of the loyal fans will be encouraging family and friends to grab a taster of the occasion...over to you Mick?

Cheaper prices just reflect our disgraceful cup record under MM. Even these prices wont attract huge Town fans who have just given up on us ever winning a cup match again. Tho will be a huge match in the national media who sniff a major cup upset. Please McCarthy dont embarrass us all again in this one.

My guess for team against Lincoln:

Gerken,
Emmanuel, Fowler, Chris Smith, Kenlock
McDonnell, Benyu, Dozzell, Nydam, Blanchfield
Morris

£10 to watch a reserve game, no thanks.

I question why the game has to be made all ticket. I know several season ticket holders that are of the generation that are not au fait with using a computer and I'm not sure that it is possible to purchase over the phone? These people will choose not to attend the game for this reason.

The only thing that will fix the FA cup is giving a Champions League spot away instead of rewarding a team placed 4th in the league!! That will never happen though as our entire football culture is now controlled by Rupert Murdoch, just like the rest of our society.

Should have said that a ticket purchased for this game will guarantee a ticket for the next round against Manchester United at home!!!

Could not set them any lower so decent prices, but on top of travelling and other costs, I just have no enthusiasm to go to this one, even at a Tenner!

Wouldnt go if it was free!

Unless Mick announces he's fielding a full strength team with Morris and Dozzell then fans should stay away. Season after season Mick doesn't take the FA cup seriously and makes fools of the fans that pay and turn up in expectation.

Still £10 to much to see that so called entertainment. Evans should give a few of his millions to make the side better, Cricket is much more better value. Football is a business no

Funny how we are not restricted by the FA with our league ticket prices, but they are not being lowered to a more realistic price.
Barring the Southampton away day a couple of years ago, the cup has been awful, particularly Stevenage this year. Even for £10 I won't attending.
