U23s Beaten at Coventry

Town’s U23s were beaten 3-1 by Coventry City at their Alan Higgs Centre academy training ground this afternoon.

Defender Luke Woolfenden netted for the team coached by Gerard Nash (pictured) in the 74th minute when he followed up after Sky Blues keeper Corey Addai had saved a freekick.

However, the home side were already two goals in front via Cian Harries’s second minute opener and Ivor Lawton’s 44th minute penalty.

George Thomas completed the scoring via a second Coventry penalty eight minutes from time.

U23s: Wright, Woolfenden, Webber, Downes, Fowler, C Smith, McKendry, McDonnell, McLoughlin, Blanchfield, Morris. Subs: McGavin, Hayes, Marshall, Folami (used on 65), Ndaba.
