Digby Returns as U23s Face Colchester

Defender or midfielder Paul Digby return to action after a knee injury when the U23s face Colchester United at Playford Road this afternoon (KO 1pm).

Also involved with Gerard Nash’s side will be defenders George Fowler and Pat Webber and strikers Ben Morris and Shane McLoughlin, who were all on the bench for the third round FA Cup draw with Lincoln City on Saturday, and midfielder James Blanchfield.

The Blues youngsters, who are seventh in the Professional Development League Two South table, will be looking to build on their 3-1 home victory over QPR in their last fixture before Christmas.

U23s: Hayes, Woolfenden, Webber, McDonnell, Fowler (c), Digby, Patterson, Blanchfield, Morris, McLoughlin, McKendry. Subs: Salaudeen, Wright, Robinson, Folami.

"Defender or midfielder" speaks volumes about the player.
As mentioned in previous comments, he can't be any worse than what we have at the moment...in defence or midfield!

Seem to remember he was always keen to get the ball and pretty good at going forward (!) with it too...Thought he looked promising.

I have said previously on this site Digby was always a central mid fielder when he came here. It was McCarthy who claimed he was a central defender. I fancy he should be used in the middle instead of Douglas.
