Blues and Derby Linked With Watford Striker
Monday, 9th Jan 2017 16:03

Town and Derby County are reportedly keen to sign Watford striker Jerome Sinclair on loan.

"According to the Daily Mirror, the Hornets are looking to loan out the 20-year-old, who they signed from Liverpool last summer for a compensation fee which could eventually rise to £4 million.

The striker, who was interesting Brentford in the summer with the Bees reportedly ready to renew their pursuit should Scott Hogan join West Ham, says he’s not thinking about a loan move, despite a lack of first-team chances since joining Watford.

"As a player I can want to play football, I enjoy playing football and I leave all that kind of stuff [transfers] to people around me,” he told the Hertfordshire Mercury.

"I try to not think about that type of thing. For me it was just about coming in, work hard and work on the things the manager asks me to."

Birmingham-born Sinclair has made only two starts - one in the Premier League - and four sub appearances since his move, scoring his first goal in Saturday’s 2-0 FA Cup victory over Burton Albion.

The 6ft tall former England U16 and U17 international, who was with West Brom as a schoolboy, made one start and four sub appearances - two in the Premier League - for Liverpool, scoring one FA Cup goal, and also made one Championship sub appearance while on loan at Wigan late in the 2014/15 season.

Looks very promising, but we should be looking to sign players and stop this loaning. At the end of the day we are just throwing money down the drain. But then again who would want to come here under these circumstances,I ask myself.!!

Why are Derby linked with everyone?

If Derby got him, perhaps they'd loan us Nugent if he's joining them...?

Three or four times each day I go on-line and look at TWTD web site in eager and excited anticipation that we are making signings, but life is full of disappointments, just like the football at PR. Cannot understand why our football is so poor, we have some good players, but it is all so depressing at the moment. I'm thinking no more loans, but where would we be without Tom Lawrence?!!

We don't want loans! We should do all we can to tie down Lawrence to a permanent switch as he is our main man. There's players that thrive off that, like Bale for Wales and if we get in some good additions, some plyers might think this club is going in the right direction... (if only!)

If we want a striker, Omar Bogle is a decent looking player. Fairly quick, good strength and top scorer in League Two with Grimsby. Rotherham are going for him and I think we could quite easily beat them!

Pointless unless it's a perm. deal. We need players here who are ours. For the last few seasons our stand out performers have been loans. Williams, Fraser, Lawrence.

It's difficult to build and move forward with a continual procession of loan players coming and going. Yet here we are again. Highly indicative of the lack of transfer funds available.

Keep logging on waiting for the headline 'TWTD understands that McCarthy is to be relieved of his duties.'

I still can't believe this hasn't happened.

Or alternatively we could give one of our youngsters a chance on the first team.

If a player with exactly the same attributes as Ben Morris was at Man U and available I bet we would go for him.

I agree with iaintaylorx, bid for Omar Bogle. I haven't seen him play, but read that he is 24-years-old, strong with aerial and dribbling ability, 6ft 2in tall, and has scored 32 goals in 67 games for Grimsby in League Two. On paper he sounds the ideal replacement for Murphy. Buy him for £1M and if he does well here he could be worth a fortune. Surely that's better than spending money on more loan fees and Premier League wages?

Thinking about another loan player which at the end of the season we can't afford after four years of McCarthy you would' have thought we would have players coming through. The players he has brought in on a permanent basis none have become better what skills they had have been coached out of them

Good loan signing for Derby then!
He won't come here no way

Quote Mattini "If a player with exactly the same attributes as Ben Morris was at Man U and available I bet we would go for him."
That sums it up in a nutshell we would far rather trust and develop someone else's youngsters rather that our own young players.

Makes a mockery of the "Buy them Young and develop them as our own player" Wasn't this the way forward as part of the 5 point plan. Unless that's the plan at the end of the loan but either way Evans needs to spend.

Not a chance...
Bobbing along 18th for the remainder of the season we are, until 10th May and we get the "agreed by mutual consent" line..

dukey44 added 17:24 - Jan 9
Instead of telling everybody who we interested in why don't we just sign them like most other clubs do? Saying that when was last time we signed any player that gets released via paper talk??? Never as we don't do business like that ? So why all the ifs buts and May be's it won't happen like that!!!

jas0999 added 17:28 - Jan 9
A loan - that's right up Marcus Evans street. Can spin a yarn that money was spent on wages and loan fees. Of course, it's also a very short sighted plan and completely needless. In our position, may as well develop our own youngsters as we won't go down nor will we go up.

StuartBrett8, probably for same reason as we are linked with everyone, scouts and papers !. all = speculation ,expectation, and as often as not disappointment. Its January, ''large pinch of salt time ''.

It's simple. We sold Murphy and didn't replace. Hacks will therefore play transfer rumour roulette.

2 dart boards 1 with random players one with random clubs.

Innnnnnnnn 1. Ipswich Town

Innnnnnnnn 2. Are trying to Sign Will Buckley.

Innnnnnnnn 3. Sunderland

Innnnnnnn 4. Have approached Man City about Delph on loan.

I could be a footie journo. How much are the above worth to the sun's sports desk?

Law of averages says if you link enough players with enough clubs sometimes you will get one right.

Forget it - more bullsh-t and another false dawn.

Everyone should be used to all this garbage by now.

We have more chance of signing Omar Sharif than Omar Bogle - reason - he would cost more than tuppence.

I think it's now 9 players we've been linked with since the window
opened 9 days ago.I wonder how many of these will actually sign, answers on a
postage stamp.
