Town chairman David Sheepshanks says that he wishes Norwich City all the best in their play-off games and claims their highest finish for seven years is good for East Anglian football as a whole.

The Town chairman says of the Blues' bitterest rivals: "Putting all the old local rivalry to one side, I think Norwich's success this season is good for football in East Anglia and I wish them the very best of luck in the games ahead."

He added that he looks forward to playing Norwich next year - in the Premiership.

Ironically Norwich wouldn't be in the play-offs but for a rule change four years ago instigated by Town.

The Blues put it to the Football League that goal difference and not goals scored should divide sides level on points. Had the opposite been the situation then Burnley would be in the play-offs not Norwich.
